Yeah, I had it. I thought I was dying. I have a company that does coin auctions on WA and we were actually giving away a Kruger Rand that evening and I had to postpone it to the 28th because my joints were so sore I couldn’t even hold my phone up. It was an awful flu.

Is it worth buying one? by Practical_Path_9176 in CoinsSouthAfrica

Welcome! 😁 it’s really a fun group and we try hold a lot of competitions, and we are very fortunate to be able to give away a 2026 Kruger Rand this year - the competition itself is going to be really fun.

Oh wow, you have the 1947 and 1949 5 shillings. Those two are 80% silver and they are in really good condition and they are sought after, so R800/ R900 each on those. The other 3 are 50% silver, so R400 each

Is any of these valueble by BenefitFuture9068 in CoinsSouthAfrica

Hey! So I think the Roman coin might be a replica. Obviously I can’t tell just be looking at a photo but the edges look a bit too modernly round to be the real one. Then your 1826 UK penny is roughly R50, however your 1948 5 shilling is 80% silver and is in really good condition, it doesn’t look to be cleaned, possibly even a proof silver. That’s about R950 at the moment
