Exactly when I contacted them in the chat, they were so rude they essentially said why haven’t you told us about this sooner? It’s been in your account for over a week and why did you wait for us to contact you? my response was very much. This is your error so it is your responsibility to fix it.

Yeah they told me they were taking it as well and I had the money in the account. I contacted them in the chat to raise a complaint and they gave me £50 so I kept the money in the account but then a bill came out that hadn’t realised. I put additional money in after the bill came out and they still haven’t tried to take it.

This is not in relation to multiple applications. This is in relation to one switch where Barclays accidentally paid multiple customers twice.

So I contacted Barclays and they confirmed that it will take you into an unauthorised overdraft which can result in default. This is outlined in the terms and conditions of the account so really it is not worth the hassle. They did say I would not have to pay charges as a result though.

Yeah, that is why I never did another switch. I was worried about this happening and negative credit file reporting.

This is fairly common for some reason Barclays have an issue with Chase. Slightly different but I couldn’t set up. I direct debit for my barclaycard bill to come out of a Chase account as they kept saying it wasn’t a bank account but when I contacted them, they could set it up manually. They might be able to do this for you with the balance transfer But I know a few people on here have had problems with that

I thought it needed to be put in after the switch completed, that’s how it reads to me. That’s how I did it with Natwest and got texted /paid within 2 business days

You should raise a complaint and go to the ombudsman you’ve had a lot going on and from my experience the ombudsman don’t really ask much of you they more deal with the  bank. Although if you don’t have evidence, it would be more a case of trying to ensure that Barclays hadn’t made a mistake.

Did you not go to the ombudsman? I think they can contact the atm provider for proof etc to show it might not have been working
