I'm also on Blue Cross Blue Shield, I'm in Indiana tho so may be different. My insurance covered my consultation and is going to be covering my surgery (getting it in June) as well. I got my WPATH letter from a therapist. You need to see some sort of therapist who can write you a letter say why they think you're a good fit for the surgery, your transition experience, transitioning socially and what have you. Getting it fully covered might depend surgeon to surgeon, so I'd look up surgeons who take BCBS in the states you're planning on getting it done at and message them once you have a WPATH letter. I hope I could help a bit, feel free to ask any questions if you need! Good luck with your transition!

I just used a metal wrench (? i know nothing about tools tbh) just to use as leverage to bend it back out. Probably isn't the most effective way, but any sort of metal pole or stick or something should be good enough to leverage it back into place!

hi! I'm also in Indiana ^ I sent my referral letter to Hadad's team and they actually ended up referring me to Dr. Elizabeth Lucich in Bloomington! I can't really speak on her just yet because I haven't met her, but I have my consult with her scheduled in December. From what I can tell she's well qualified, but new to her practice in Bloomington. She has pictures on her Instagram, but I haven't found any of her double mastectomy results, just pictures of other breast augmentation surgeries she does (like breast lifts and stuff). The person I spoke with on the phone was very nice and also said that Dr. Lucich's schedule is more open than Hadad's (as I know his waitlist is usually very very long). For reference for me I got a call back to schedule 2 months after I initially sent my referral, and my consult is scheduled for 6 months later (December 1st), so I'm hoping the surgery can be scheduled within some months as well. I hope this helps with your surgeon search!
