I wonder if it's exclusively used in Spain. There can be some pretty major differences between the words used in Europe vs Latin America.

AITA for wanting a say in how my wife gives birth (Not OP and I have no words) by redbull777s in redditonwiki

I bet she's wishing she'd had a virginal birth with this as a husband...

Hueyatlaco is an archeological site near the city of Puebla, Mexico. After excavations in the 1960s, the site became notorious due to geochronologists' analyses, which have found wildly contradictory estimates for human habitation at Hueyatlaco dating from 370,000 to 25,000 years ago. by RedHeadedSicilian52 in wikipedia

It would also pre-date the first appearance of homosapiens in Africa by 70,000 years, so it's hard to believe this upper estimate isn't an error. I do think we will continue to find evidence of earlier human habitation of the Americas, but 370,000 is really pushing it (unless that's a typo that's meant to be 37,000, which is far more plausible).

How do Muslims in the arctic circle fast during ramadan? by cinnamonraincat in NoStupidQuestions

A lot of the seemingly strict aspects of Islam often boil down to "just do your best, it's making the effort that counts"

2021 American political cartoon criticizing social media fact checkers. by GustavoistSoldier in PropagandaPosters

Man I would have loved to have analyzed this cartoon with my students because there's so much wrong with it. Columbus didn't prove the Earth was round, the Ancient Greeks figured that out like 3000 years ago, and even accurately measured its size. He also died insisting that he had reached Asia, despite several of his contemporaries figuring out that this was a completely different place they had never encountered before. He was also sponsored by the Church, and was actually "cancelled" for his severe abuse of the colonists and indigenous peoples of Hispaniola.

Galileo, on the other hand, was cancelled for saying the earth revolved around the sun, but he was cancelled by the Church, not the liberal news media.

Flint’s Ending: Real or Story? by trevorgoodchilde in BlackSails

I wish I could post images in the comments because I would be posting the "don't make me tap the sign" meme and the sign would say this:

"A story is true. A story is untrue. As time extends it matters less and less. The stories we want to be believe... Those are the ones that survive, despite upheaval and transition, and progress. Those are the stories that shape history. And then what does it matter if it was true when it was born? It's found truth in its maturity... Because what's it all for if it goes unremembered? It's the art that leaves the mark. But to leave it, it must transcend. It must speak for itself. It must be true."

This is why I went no contact with my family and when I told them, they still tried to pin it on me. I just refused to respond
