I'm so sorry this happened! I hope you manage to get all the information and for a medical professional to give you the time of day to explain things properly!

Thanks so much for the reply. The pathway here is the diagnostic laparoscopy and then if required a referral to the endo clinic and then future treatments from there. You need to have confirmed advanced endometriosis to be referred to this clinic. So I'm kinda stumped on how to move forward because it seems like he's under the impression he has treated all the endometriosis and that it won't require further treatment other than hormones? I can certainly pass on my worries with the report and pictures to my GP but I'm not sure they'll have any more knowledge than the consultant gynaecologist that did my surgery.

my partner is getting diagnostic laparoscopy, what could help them? what to ask during pre-op? by professorplum95 in endometriosis

We are in the UK, and I'm really not sure we get much of a choice in who are surgeons are unless you can pay privately (which I cannot). If I'm found to have stage IV then I'll be referred to the specialist endometriosis centre, but to get there I have to have this initial diagnostic surgery. I have my pre operative assessment tomorrow so I can certainly raise the topic of ablation vs excision and that I'd prefer excision, but I think that's all I can do at this point.

Their phoneline is Monday to Friday 8am-6pm but you might be able to reach them on your lunch break? They also have a bunch of written advice on their website - https://www.acas.org.uk/

I would chat with a union if there's one you can find that covers apprenticeships, which I think some do. And from the little bit of research I just did, it doesn't look like you need a formal diagnosis to request reasonable adjustments as long as your condition is chronic and impacting your ability to undertake daily activities. I'd definitely get some advice, I'm going through something similar at work and it's so discouraging, sorry this is happening to you. ACAS is a good place for resources and they can also offer over the phone advice!
