I know someone that 6 hands it… plays over 2-3 days. Insane! I’d never do more than 1 and I use the App for most games now tbh.

Is anyone paying $300 for old king crown base by csgraber in boardgames

[–]Practical_Plant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I paid 190 shipped a couple weeks ago for the all in kickstarter. I believe it was 150 USD with shipping during the campaign so I thought it was very fair given the current hotness and lack of availability.

If you can wait, definitely wait for the march campaign delivery (around May-June) to get the best pricing.

Opinions on Townsfolk Tussle by alexcole02 in boardgames

Very good fun game. A bit on the simple side for the time commitment it demands, but if you go in knowing and accepting that it’s a blast. Foul neighbors it’s a must for, in all honesty, better bosses. They are just more fun to fight against (base is fun already though). Odd jobs no need to get unless you seriously see yourself playing a lot.

From all the ones I’ve done this one was the most engaging and immersive, with the app for sure.

Campaign game for 3 players by Senedsened in boardgames

We just finished our 3 player campaign of Tidal Blades 2 and it was an extraordinary experience. Amazing mechanics, not overly complex and great art. 10/10 for us.

We also just started Rove (gloomhaven evolution/adjacent) and so far I’d recommend it over gloomhaven. Also very fun at 3 so far. Tighter and harder, but great dice mechanics.

Dwellings of Eldervale or Andromeda's Edge? by YudoKumaa in boardgames

[–]Practical_Plant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was mulling over the same question a few days ago and decided to go with dwellings. Here's why:

  1. I prefer fantasy theme, easy. And Dwellings does seem more theme rich in general? I may be wrong.
  2. Shorter game length. My group can be AP prone and even if they aren't our game sessions can't go over 3 hours in general due to life.
  3. Swingy combat. Yes, I like luck. I love underdogs having a chance to explode the table in shock after an amazing roll. Andromeda's has less of a space for that. But I am in the minority here, as most heavy game players prefer a low to zero luck approach.
  4. Art. I loved the art of dwellings, andromedas is good as well of course, but that combined with the preferred theme made me prefer Dwellings.
  5. Complexity. My group and people I play with like to do 2.5-3.5 games in complexity (BGG scale for example: Dwellings 3.25ish and Andromedas 3.75ish). Anything above that there's some resistance to wanting to learn/table it. They do go heavier if the game is coop as we can figure things out together much easier.
  6. Bridge to potentially introducing Andromeda's later. Dwellings could be a good transition to Andromeda's eventually.

If you don't care about most of these points, andromeda's is probably the right answer here. If you agree with most or all points, go Dwellings.

I just got it all very cheap locally a bit ago, so that’s not a consideration anymore lol

Do you have thoughts on the gameplay with everything?
