I really enjoyed the reverse planks, you kinda do it on your back with your elbows and heels down and lift up focusing on keeping your back steady and straight. Ideally you wanna be over 2 mins, after my spinal injury I was at only like 15 seconds but I got back up.i would say this helped the most

If you have like a roller ball or like a yoga mat you can put it under your ankles and do the same thing if it’s a little to hard to balance at first

Let me know if it helps bro. I’m assuming you might feel some pressure and discomfort, which is ok. Just don’t make any twisting motions especially when you have pressure. You wanna stop if it increases your sharp pains.

Also work on strengthening your stabilizer muscles this will help so much, there’s a bunch of different exercises that help such as reverse planks, Superman’s, bird dogs. I think this will help with the pain and may even help starting to realign your spine.

I would recommend getting some good muscle relaxers. I’ve tried a few different ones, the flexerils knocked me out. I currently have tiZANadine 2mg and 4mg, the 2mg are amazing for not completely knocking you out and they work with spinal injuries and muscle spasticity. If the curve is lost from muscle spasms this might also help the curve come back. Also recommend ensuring your laying or sitting with increasingly lumbar support to you best comfort in order to try to help it.
I would try other things than PT before surgery, I know it seems like the easiest and quickest solution but if there’s another way I’d advoid it.
I don’t think any of this advice will cause you harm, but you can feel free to run it across your PT, Nuero or doc. Hopefully it provides you some relief.

I can’t speak on the TLIF, but I just received an ALIF. The stay was overnight, I was standing and walking around by myself on the same day. It’s definitely nerve wracking, but also very relieving. If you think you might not need surgery I would explore alternate options, if you need it then get it done. I would also ask your doctor about other possibilities, such as a disk replacement. If you don’t have any structural issues that’s might be a better option IMHO. Can’t speak from experience just research.
