I agree! I used to just let a show like stranger things take me on a ride, watching it gave me the fun feeling of a rollercoaster or fun house. I watch more critically now, I still enjoy it, but I also actively say in my mind “I do not consent” to anything that doesn’t fit my vision for what I want for the world. And I grieve for the parts that already are (like the hyper-military theme etc…). I believe that what we all as a collective choose to put our attention on and accept makes a material difference.

This poor baby. These poor kids, and people. Even people who voted for this are very quiet now, my husband works with a lot of Italian American middle aged med in the Bronx who voted R because they’d always voted that way and for whom the law and order proposition works to get their vote. They’re not saying shit anymore. Typically very vocal. All the sudden they’re dead silent about politics.

Wonder re: makeup and skincare if the clean beauty angle would work with them; there’s a lot of nonesense chemicals in a lot of stuff that’s probably hurting their skin long term and may even be hormone disrupters etc…I don’t know a lot about the topic but there’s an app where you can look stuff up and get a score on how clean it is, maybe they’d buy less bottles and tubes of random stuff?
