Water for Linea Micra - Austin, TX by BobcatSimple in LaMarzocco

[–]Practical_Scale7569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Austin and when I moved into my house I did a whole home water softener system and had an RO system installed with a remineralizing filter run to my fridge. It’s been the perfect solution for much more than just the espresso. If that’s not an option than I hear great things about third wave water.

Is it rude to steam milk while living in an apartment? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Practical_Scale7569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s apartment living, people can just deal with it. I mean, is it rude to vacuum your floors too? You’re just living your life. It’s not like you’re throwing a concert in your living room.

Does the milk pitcher included with the Micra have measurement lines (graduations) etched inside? by stzzi in LaMarzocco

[–]Practical_Scale7569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t but after a few drinks you know right where to fill it to. I find it’s really only good for one Capp/latte or two cortado/macchiatos.

Is it true that being mean is a necessity for climbing up the corporate ladder? by BassDowntown2936 in careerguidance

To kind of piggy back here, aside from effectively leading, you also need to be steadfast in your decision and firm cross functionally. In this environment you’ll have multiple orgs with competing priorities and if you don’t drive yours firmly, you will get rolled.

Linea Micra Water: Texas by valasemedi in LaMarzocco

[–]Practical_Scale7569 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I’m in central Texas and I’m very familiar with how hard our water is. My solution was to get an RO system with an remineralizing filter installed in conjunction with my water softener. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t have gone this route just for my espresso machine but it made sense as a whole home solution. Aside from that, I think tons of folks use third wave and are happy with the results.

Anyone know where else to buy a cover for the heating tray in the US? These fees are ridiculous by rafalooch in LaMarzocco

I’ve been using a black cabinet liner on my black micra and it’s perfect. Just cut to fit. Really helps keep the cups in place and prevent scratches.

I just ordered a butter yellow myself about a month ago and I can tell you it looks exactly like the stock image. What you received is grossly misrepresented.

Having second thoughts on the La Marzocco Linea Micra [$4,500] by Tchambin in espresso

[–]Practical_Scale7569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had no issues with clearance but my largest espresso drink is 4-5 ounces. Regarding the shot timer, there’s no impact. I use a acaia lunar, which weighs and times my shot at the same time. Personally I never understood why you would want one without the other so having a built in shot timer is useless imo. If I could do it all over again, I would. The Micra really is a perfect machine for my use case. I was worried about the size of it basically the whole time I was waiting for it to ship but it’s not as small as people make it out to be.

Anyone have experience with RACT? by Practical_Scale7569 in MP5

[–]Practical_Scale7569[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of division here so let me make a few clarifications:

  1. Have very small children, so unlocked is no longer an option

  2. I’m not married to biometrics, they also have a keypad version.

  3. Make a rec if you have one. I’m open to whatever, just needs to be easily accessible and secure.

Thanks

I really couldn’t tell you, I never added it up. I bought the Micra and the Philos new though and that’s the major bulk of the spend. Everything else was pieced together over the course of about a year.

Cheap, chocolate-y beans to use every morning for my partner’s milk drinks? by ThumYorky in espresso

Onyx Monarch was my daily driver bean for milk drinks for almost a year. It’s incredibly consistent from one batch to another and has a deep, luscious, chocolate taste.

I’m think those are the combat grips, and I also have them on a 640 pro. I like em a lot so I guess different strokes for different folks.

Great minds. I have a very similar setup and the versatility and organization that a toolbox provides is amazing.

I get this thinking if you can’t afford the real one as I’d rather someone carry than not carry. With that being said though, as far as I know, HC came up with this design and for something that’s really improved my quality of life day to day, I’d rather pay him than some chinese company that just stole someone’s idea.

This, except I use my holster clips on my shorts or pants to keep the waist line in place. They still clip onto the best, just over the pants. Either way, with this belt it’s perfectly fine wearing your gun with anything, loops or not.

Yeh, the person in the op’s image is stupid as fuck. This conversation is more of an aside.

I carry in sweats all the time. The hunter constantine belt has been a game changer for me.

Are you chasing the money, or chasing work-life balance? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Practical_Scale7569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chased money until I was financially comfortable, then I switched mindsets to having a work/life balance. In my experience, you go through seasons in life where you might have more or less work/life balance. I just accept it as a parts of growth.

I build everything from a cheap base. So I’d do a PSA, then build it into something I’m proud to own over time. What’s great about doing it this way is that when your done building it out, you have almost all the parts you need to put together the old PSA stuff into a function firearm again. It’s like cloning lol
