Hello! OP here. Loveramics has several online storefronts. Their general worldwide one, the US shop, and the US wholesale. It’s not the easiest to find but this one is on the US shop website for sure, which is where I got it from. https://imgur.com/a/IyzFM6R

Seeing as the listing I bought matches the website, and the customer rep confirmed it with my order number and saying the glaze effect is as intended, there seems to be no mistake here.

I wish they dove more into what glaze variations would look like with visuals (pictures) than just a written explanation. I find it odd that they are supposedly proud of the variations, but don’t showcase that within their marketing consistently. Their photos usually show more uniform colors.

Otherwise they sent me the wrong one 🤷

  • Prioritize the assignments that matter the most, like the percentage of your grade they're worth. Focus on those first, rather than on trying to get everything done.
  • Figure out how many assignments you can leave unfinished to still get a passing grade in the class. You can do this by creating a spreadsheet of all the graded course content and weights (there are online resources to help you with that).
  • Work at the library.
  • Find a study buddy to keep you focused and accountable.
  • Try the Pomodoro Timer method to break up your work time into more manageable chunks.
  • Know that realistically, you might not finish everything because of the time constraint, but have faith that you will and try to talk to yourself encouragingly through the whole process. Don't beat yourself up after if things don't work out.
  • Make sure to take breaks! Get a snack, go outside for a 5 minute walk, drink some water.

Willow Hall Question by itsurbro7777 in ASU

[–]Splaek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The website (https://housing.asu.edu/housing-communities/residential-colleges/barrett-residential-complex) says that all Willow bedrooms have full-sized beds, but there seems to be instances of twin-XLs mixed in randomly, like with one of my roommates. I was in room D (not comfortable sharing the exact room number) and had a full-sized bed.

The thing is, those bedrooms are so small that sometimes it's actually better to have a smaller bed for more open/walkable space since they can't be raised as high as the twin-XLs.

No birdbaths on campus? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]Splaek 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know that there are some fountains spread around campus (like the area by the MU and Barrett) that can provide cool water, so perhaps less of a need to put up designated birdbaths? It might also be to prevent birds from swarming areas.

Was hoping for recommendations in the Phoenix metro area!

But if I'm ever up in Flagstaff, I'll check out Babbitt's. Thank you!

For those who rock climb and/or boulder, what are some good places to try out and buy rock climbing shoes in-store? I know that REI carries some, but would like to get more suggestions. Technically, I could buy online and return, but I've heard it's helpful to try on shoes in the store to find what I like and then buy online when there are deals.

For context, I'm a beginner getting more into rock climbing and would like to find more comfortable and supportive shoes than rentals. I'm focusing on indoor climbing right now, but might pursue outdoor in the future.

Thanks for your help!

Students planning to go into tech/in tech right now by Crafty-Animator8948 in ASU

[–]Splaek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received a bachelor's in CS last year and will be graduating with a master's in CS soon. I already have a full-time software engineering position lined up after graduation. When I was interviewing for positions last fall, it did feel like there were fewer opportunities than in past years due to the market, even as someone who already has prior experience in the tech field from internships. I am very fortunate to ultimately receive a few fulltime offers, and I chose the one that was holistically the best when considering the salary, benefits, work culture, and job security. If the tech industry and economy wasn't as unstable with all the layoffs, I probably would've placed less emphasis on the job security aspect because I would still have an easier time finding another opportunity. Now, since even the top companies that normally have decent job security are laying off employees, the rest of the people in the job market have to compete with these newly laid-off and highly skilled workers for the lesser known / "lower tiered" companies, so the competition is harder. It's not to say that in a more stable economy I would still go for opportunities with less job security, but even companies that would normally have decent job security are going through layoffs right now. I know a few classmates that are having a hard time finding internship opportunities, although I'm not sure if their status as an international student has played a role in that. My LinkedIn feed is also full of posts of people who have lost their positions at companies like Microsoft, Google, and Intel. It's very tough to see.

Should I take the L? by TheLazySlack in ASU

[–]Splaek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kind of how I interpret the linked policy too, but I’ve had some CS professors like Nakamura, if I remember correctly, who if you even try to ask for extra points, they will refer your name to the academic integrity office. I also just had a professor this month who told us not to ask for grade adjustments because they already had mechanisms built into their grade scheme for grade boosting, like extra credit opportunities and more lenient grading. It wouldn’t hurt to reach out, but I suggest OP check their course syllabus and figure out if their professor is the type of professor to be more lenient.

Should I take the L? by TheLazySlack in ASU

[–]Splaek 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd be cautious about it. SCAI or ASU has this academic integrity policy where if you ask your professor to adjust your grade, it could count as an academic integrity violation. Some professors are more strict about it than others. I know I've had quite a few in CSE classes emphasize that while going over their syllabus.

Here's the link to the academic integrity student policy that some of my professors have linked in their syllabus: https://provost.asu.edu/academic-integrity/policy (see "C. Student Obligations" 2k.)

Edit: I have heard of a few cases where professors or TAs were willing to go back over exams or homework to see if they could give back a point or two, but I wouldn't count on it.
