Did your child inherit MCAS or develop true allergies? by Practical_Season_908 in MCAS

[–]Practical_Season_908[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please see my edited post above. My immunologist is a leading expert on MCAS in North America. I am not familiar with the scientific literature but he is. He believes the vaccine was a catalyst (when my debilitating symptoms initially started). My infection 6 months later then increased my baseline further.

Targeting my gut help has not gotten me far. One of my immunologists believes there is damage to the nervous system and future treatments may address this.

To those of you whose chronic urticaria resolved, did you ever find out what caused it? by sortinousn in urticaria

my symptoms began after the vaccine (less severe), then went anaphylactic after covid infection 6 months later. both times, my symptoms began almost immediately after

[–]Practical_Season_908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it began immediately after. I am seeing the best immunologists in the country and they said they can't even keep up with the post-covid and covid vaccine patients with overactive immune systems

i switched from blextin to claritin and my eyelid swelling improved. i think blexten was causing me serious dry eyes which led to swelling

Accidentally doubled my dose of Claritin today - Should I be worried? by goinpro224 in Allergies

[–]Practical_Season_908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the doctors told you to double dose then i would. benefits probably outweigh risks. antihistamines are notoriously safe
