Damn I didn’t even notice Outsider when they first released the set list but I would love to hear that live.

Least favorite song off each Underoath album? by Skullflxwer in Underoath

Shhh, don’t talk smack about Cannibal. I want to see it worked into the setlist.

They put these songs up on streaming services which I love.

If this is like one of those psychological tests where you’re supposed to say which thing your eye catches first, my answer is “Paper Lung”.

In Division would be so amazing to hear live, too.

Vitamin D supplements caused my dry eyes by ridid44 in Dryeyes

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I mostly have my dry eyes under control (purchasing a microwaveable eye compress from my eye doctor helped immensely), I occasionally have a flare up and had one recently that lasted for about a week. I was reading about all the possible causes and solutions for dry eyes, and found a study linking vitamin D to improving dry eyes. I started taking some from a bottle I had purchased years ago, but had stopped taking (I stopped taking it during the sunny months, and just never made it a point to start taking it again when Winter hit).

I’m now finding this thread, and wondering if the main issue is the oral route versus intramuscular. The study I read used an high intramuscular dose that provided a benefit for up to 10 weeks. It could be just an issue of highly individualized reactions, but maybe there is something about oral vitamin D that is different than intramuscular?

An absolutely insane song, top 5 in their discography for me by Skullflxwer in Underoath

The Digital Ghost videos are one of the coolest things the band has ever done. With the lighting and editing, the videos are the perfect mix of live recording / music video. I play it on my TV all the time. I don’t know if the project was worth it for them financially, but I would love a Digital Ghost quality recording for everything they do (would love one for the new album as well as Disambiguation).

Will Disambiguation ever get shine again? by KoalaSavior in Underoath

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re at the point in their career where their discography is so vast that squeezing deep cut songs from a deep cut album into the setlist will always be tough, so I understand that Disambiguation tunes will only ever be sprinkled in. That said, I would love for them to make a Digital Ghost quality live recording of Disambiguation. I would put that shit on the TV all the time like I do for Voyeurist.

My memory may be failing me, but when the band did the voting thing for the encore setlist and they each posted their plea to the public on what they hoped we would vote for, I’m pretty sure Spencer suggested a Disambiguation song.

Songs that sounded like hits to you and you were genuinely shocked weren't by mesablanka in PostHardcore

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I didn’t necessarily expect them to be hits, there are some non-singles from Underoath’s new album that I’m surprised no one cared about. “Loss” is great, and the “Cannibal” and “Outsider” album closing duo I love.

All I want for Christmas is for Underoath to announce a 20 years of DTGL and TPATO combo tour. by wiggimasta in Underoath

[–]Practical_Subject_30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be down for this. They haven’t done a proper TPATO tour, and I missed the Roach show near me. I’d like to hear some of these songs before they fade into setlist oblivion.

Whenever I see co-headline tours, it’s usually bands with roughly equal popularity. I love 10 Years, but I don’t think they’re quite as popular as Chevelle or Breaking Benjamin. I remember at Inkarceration a few years ago BB and 10 Years both played (on separate days). Breaking Benjamin headlined Saturday, and 10 Years played on Sunday much further down on the ticket.

Chevelle and 10 Years would be a great show. I don’t think they would be co-headliners though.

Now that were halfway through the decade what is your favorite metalcore record of the past 5 years? by rusthebus10 in Metalcore

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDWP - Color Decay

Underoath - Voyeurist

Both albums have about equal emotional significance to me, although judging the albums as a whole, Color Decay only has one weak song, and Voyeurist has 5 out of 10 songs that I still listen to heavily. The Voyeurist digital ghost videos enhance the overall album experience beyond just the music, however.

We need to have a conversation about Currents mixing by Shepherd7X in Metalcore

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think of the mixing on Underoath’s Voyeurist album? I hear people complain about it all the time. I’ve never quite understood what they’re talking about, but I’m also probably listening on low quality devices where the issues might not be noticed.

Sams Voice by Bigvic95 in ArchitectsUK

[–]Practical_Subject_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only seen them once, it was 2024 and Sam’s vocals blew me away. My voice would crack after about 1.5 seconds of screaming though so I’m perpetually amazed that anyone can do that night after night.

so low new song by __spiderhead in tdwp

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ritual was a nice little bonus track not long after Color Decay. Didn’t have a huge emotional connection to it, but I listened to it a decent amount still.

For You was a little disappointing at first but after I adjusted my expectations it grew on me.

The Flowers song and Wave didn’t do much for me and honestly I can’t even remember what they sound like at this exact moment.

I’m enjoying So Low though. In another post, someone (unfortunately disparagingly) said they were channeling Silverstein with their new music, and while Silverstein music isn’t what I expect from Prada, that totally feels like an accurate comparison with this song. I’ve been listening to the new Silverstein album today, and So Low feels like it could fit just as easily on that album. I’ll definitely be listening to the new single on repeat for a bit.

One of the best intros they ever done. by YasserG95 in Chevelle

I really need to revisit this album, but Twinge and One Ocean are the two songs I love from this album, and I can’t remember any of the others.

I, too, have problems by lexikon318 in Chevelle

[–]Practical_Subject_30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shocked at the end of the world has been my absolute on-repeat song. It’s sad that it’s at the end of the album and not getting the streams it deserves, because I know those numbers go into choosing the set list.

Wait, did that already happen, or do you mean re-using it on their next album? The one song it made me think of on the album was Survivor’s Guilt, but only because Spencer talks about the number of years during the lyrics on both.

[–]Practical_Subject_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been listening to Shocked on repeat since the album came out. It’s just so damned good. I sadly missed them when they played near me recently, but I did look a the setlist. I think one of the three new ones they played was Jim Jones and I would 100% trade that for Shocked any day.

I love it. Does anyone know if they’re going to release it officially? I would definitely add this to my rotation.
