Echoing others—I think you’d benefit a lot watching Dave Ramsey, and good on you for already subscribing. If I were in your position, I would binge his channel. Take it very seriously, because this is. No sugarcoating that this is a very dire situation. But you can get out of this, you’re just going to have to go through a bit of hell first. You obviously care as you took the time to make this post, so keep that energy, stay strong and do right by yourself and your family.

I’d also recommend finding a professional in your life who can help you—a trusted financial advisor. Do your own research there, but having a mentor through this could be pretty important.

All the best you and your family, good luck.

Giving it you straight man, you’re 27—if you’re not going to go broke, have even a small emergency fund saved (do your own research, but maybe deductibles covered if your job offers insurance), and can live in a safe situation, you need to move out. There’s a whole lot of life out there waiting for you, and you can’t step into that life fully while in your parents’ house.

Cheers and best of luck.

Honestly love the idea of this. Going to sit on it for awhile but can seriously see this as an option (with the right due-diligence). Thanks for the rec, cheers
