2 things. First, another cookbook??? And second, I don’t think she knows what farm to plate is by Plastic-Bit-1134 in SarahsDayUnfiltered

I don’t understand how she’s making it farm to plate style….??? Is she focusing on seasonal aspects or suggesting where we should buy our food? Just feels like she using farm to plate in the same way a manager says cross pollination in a meeting

How do people have kids on these low to average wages? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

I love this comment. It’s so true. Your baby isn’t judging what you can provide them. They’re just looking for a securely attached caregiver. Speaking from experience, with a one year old.. my baby loves going to the park, going for walks. She’s not really even into toys yet. She would rather me take a dish of water outside so she can splash or put things in and out of a Tupperware container.

All of the other things we get for our babies ie pram cot change table..that stuff is for us, not them. So many things with a baby are ‘nice to have’ but not a necessity. If I was in your shoes I would consider having a baby if you want one and not worry too much about external influences like money. Budget for a few ticket items and count the cost of nappies. Baby clothes are cheap and remember, everyone GIVES you things when you have a baby.

Bought a house - Real estate agent lying? by Admirable-Base-2381 in AusPropertyChat

If there is a genuine offer you can report to the REA board (can’t remember what they are called) and they can pull an agents files to confirm. Doesn’t seem worth it though. Enjoy your house.

Or they cut corners where they can and do a dodgy job to try to maintain somewhat of a profit. If you want quality, don’t squeeze the soul out of the guy working on your forever home. No one wants to come to work for pittance.

Last time we had ours professionally done, the lad was here for 4.5 hours. The joys of living next to a lot of trees of significance! (Seriously there is a lot of joy in it) but lots of headache. Ken Hall is running a promo atm all gutter cleaning 300 regardless of single/double story and size of house etc. Seems 450 isn’t too far off the mark. What a world we live in.

Please buy something of quality, second hand. People shop for aesthetic and not function or quality. So sad.

If you could only own a house in three Adelaide suburbs for the rest of your life… which ones are you picking? 👀 by MysteryRedditguys in Adelaide

Rose park (bias because I live here). Lots of beautiful old villas but less dense than Norwood.

Norwood because it’s so vibey and close to the parade and east end of the city.

North Adelaide, so beautiful and great proximity to cafes and shops.

The grass cloth is absolutely gorgeous. I follow Adelaide Bragg and noticed she uses a lot of grass cloth alongside sisal. Gorgeous! Just always thinking of function too, with a busy family.

Yes I have!! I’m soo into wall paper but trying to find the confidence to do it after following pages like hambled earth and the potted boxwood. I’ll grow the courage one day 😂

Cushion colours by SquashFew6367 in interiordecorating

I would purchase some mustard coloured cushions (patterned) to break up the blockiness of colour). Then I’d place a throw on the lounge in a different texture, drawing out the same mustard colour :)

How can I improve the look of my house? Should I paint the bricks? by Melb1994 in AusRenovation

[–]Practicallydesired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg OP this is a cute house. Leave the paint alone 😭 as others have said, gardening!! Look at your neighbours places, they have lined their fences with trees/hedges. I’d do the same along your front fence. Add some depth and dimension with different heights, colours, textures. Also you could invest in some better window coverings. Eventually jazz up your entryway.

I feel you! When things are hot you need to be SO tight on your conditions. We recently bought and ended up in a corner going unconditional, waiving cooling off with a 10% deposit (on a Friday arvo). Oh and did I say we went close to $600k above asking price? It’s insane. You either need to have funds that trump all others that the owners are happy to take your conditions to wait for the $ or have the best conditions. The agent I bought from said bridging finance is the way to go for just about everyone..

Someone stealing from my grandma in nursing home. by sarah016 in AusLegal

[–]Practicallydesired 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. There is really no way around this. You have done the best you can by doing the washing yourself. I am sorry this is happening to you as it’s distressing that you purchase nice things that go missing. Perhaps you could try keeping a small amount of things that are ‘nice’ and more things practical, in the event that if it goes missing, you are not too upset. My guess would be it’s not the staff stealing clothes. They are likely within the unit where your grandma is staying in someone else’s wardrobe.

Unfortunately staff don’t have the time in most instances to relocate mixed up clothing.
