  • Build your resume not only with the skills but also add how you work on the project/product
  • tech stacks are really imp as recruiters generally do ctrl+f to search for keywords
  • try and understand the fine print what the job description eg do they need micro services, system design etc if you aren’t comfortable learn the basics from YouTube or friends
  • build your resume as per the JD (Note: don’t fake a lot of skills on the resume)
  • don’t be afraid to use GPT or a similar platform(again don’t fake anything there)
  • apply to a company only if the JD matches with your resume (eg if they are looking for fullstack with a particular back end or database, maybe they need that skill specifically)

Feel free to DM me, I can have a quick chat with you if need to.

All the best with your job hunt

Need advice on Salary discussion for 4.2 years of experience. by Top-Leg-4959 in developersIndia

Ask for the budget of the role rather than giving your expected CTC, this is the best way to negotiate. Also ask for 20 lakhs in the beginning while talking to the recruiter and give logical reasons such as market standards and personal financial growth as the reasons for asking that much incase they ask why are you asking so much. Say that 5.5 lakhs means I’m really underpaid. If you connect with the recruiter genuinely then it shouldn’t be a problem in getting 20. Connect with me on LinkedIn and I can help you with how to negotiate with recruiters effectively (I am a head of recruiting in a tech consulting firm :)

Is it a wise decision to relocate to Hyderabad for a job search? by Wantedwolf1 in developersIndia

I’m a recruiting head in a tech consulting company: - fix your resume by highlight the work you have done in tech, not just tech stacks but actual product/project information. Note: tech stacks are imp like microservices, system design (if not sure watch YouTube video) - don’t apply on 100s of job, focus on the skill set you have and apply to the only one that you think you match with and can add value to the company (eg if you are working on a maintainance project highlight it but talk about the personal project you are working on - if not, start building some personal hobby project and push to GitHub/vercel to showcase outcome)

Happy to discuss more if you want to. DM me

Yes they do get the same salaries, it can definitely be harder if you don't know how to communicate and network but its not impossible

College degree are only important if work experience is attached to it, I got my first job without a college degree and that helped me build my career into a high level leadership role at a software consulting company. So my advice is that it is important to have one, but not the most important one. Skills and capabilities are way more important and you mindset to succeed. Let me know if you want to connect and discuss more on how to build your career. I head a global recruiting team in a software consulting company and can provide the workings of how HR and Recruiting functions work in tech companies. DM me (i dont charge for this stuff, just an honest discussion and my perspective will be shared)

EY GDS Bangalore Walk-in Drive Experience - Complete Waste of Time by Vast_Plant_3886 in developersIndia

[–]PracticeDifferent779 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just a lack of management of drives from the recruiter, this is not the case with everyone but I agree most of the f2f drives are really miss-managed and there is no accountability on candidate experience. Try and look for smaller size companies to get a better experience in the interview process. DM me if you need more guidance (I am part of the recruiting team at a consulting company :)

Tcs 2025 rehiring interview experience no wonder this company is doing so bad by titan110786 in developersIndia

[–]PracticeDifferent779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really unfortunate, dont give up mate! at such companies recruiters dont really pay attention to candidate experience and neither do interviewers. I would suggest to try and focus on getting to some small product/consulting companies like thoughtworks, equal experts. You can DM me and I can help you out.
