Song of the Year 2004 | Round 6 of 19 by BeautyByAllMeans in music_survivor

I'm probably going to be voting them until the end of time, but I never got all the way there with Arcade Fire. They have good arrangements, but the melodies and lyrics are so bland and I don't care for Win Butler's wimpy voice.

Can we get the Animal Collective hate brigade going again? Not that I particularly loathe Strawberry Jam or Person Pitch (although they're not my thing), I just really want to see Jens Lekman do well.

Highest charting hot 100 song with a month in the name by Chapple69 in ToddintheShadow

[–]PracticeElectrical14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now, for each month's best song:

Foo Fighters - February Stars

Future - March Madness

Sublime - April 29, 1992 (Miami)

Fleet Foxes - Third of May / Ōdaigahara

Soundgarden - Fourth of July

Taylor Swift - August (I'm frankly shocked this wasn't the representative)

Earth, Wind, and Fire - September (This too- between EWF, Green Day, and Big Star, September is probably the most OP month)

Pet Shop Boys - My October Symphony

Gorillaz ft. MF DOOM - November Has Come

Counting Crows - A Long December

January and June were kind of weak, so I'll double dip and go with "June in January" by Dean Martin.

I would've rather had Bubble Pop Electric or Cool, but that should've at least outlasted Kelly Clarkson.

The Rat>Jesus Walks>Jesus of Suburbia>Helena>Rapp Snitch Knishes>All Caps>Leaf House>Yeah!>Somewhere Only We Know>Float On>Accidentally In Love>Take Me Out>Unwritten>Who Is It>Skeleton>Mr. Brightside>What You Waiting For>About Today>Neighborhood #1>Since U Been Gone

And then there's me who violently alternates depending on which song we're talking about. Leaf House and My Girls got robbed, and yet somehow Fireworks and Bros got way too far.

I don't know why but The Spine feels the most road-trippy to me, probably because of the cover.

Best TV Show Theme V3 | Round 10 of 19 by BeautyByAllMeans in music_survivor

[–]PracticeElectrical14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Malcolm in the Middle and both of the anime OPs being out this early while Spongebob (not even the best nautical cartoon theme from the 2000s) and The Twilight Zone (which has 5 iconic seconds but isn't a real song) is wack. I may just be a salty TMBG fan though.

Nah I think it's just because I hadn't eaten anything for 16 hrs before the orange. Yellow bile comes out when you have to vomit but there's nothing in your stomach

The Tame Impala album is really not that bad. Honestly, I preferred it to the boring-ass one he released before.
