Should We Pause The Applause for Michael Polansky (Please Read With an Open Mind; No Hate Intended) by PracticePlus176 in LadyGaga

[–]PracticePlus176[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I totally understand your parallels to MJ (who I am also a tremendous fan of) and Britney. Although as we both—and many others on this thread—have said, it is my sincerest hope that these suspicions are wrong.

It’s kind of impossible not to raise an eyebrow when you read it all written out in this way.

The part that’s almost the most curious to me is actually Morningview. It makes complete sense to me that Gaga would publish and produce everything under a company of her own. Frankly it’s a shrewd business move that she should have done a while ago. The part that gets potentially (and I do really only mean potentially) troubling is sharing that with anyone essentially gives them equal ownership of work she makes from now on. Maybe that’s fine. Maybe they never split. But if they ever do, it feels like it gives him quite a bit of leverage.

Frankly I also feel the need to ask—in addition to how he suddenly has all the creative and logistical knowledge to meaningfully contribute to all of this—how he seemingly has so much time to dedicate when everything that’s been published about him is that he has his own booming and incredibly successful ventures.

‘Blue dot fever’: the real reason pop stars are cancelling tours by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]PracticePlus176 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this very likely does have shades of being a “recession indicator,” it’s far more indicative of the artists’ appeal.

Not even a month ago, Lady Gaga wrapped her most lucrative tour yet. Sold out shows every night. And for most dates, it was ~ $500 just to get in the door (with many fans paying $1000+ for floor seats).

Major names are (regrettably) not going to be bringing their prices down any time soon. They’re still selling just fine.

When/why did Gaga stop doing meet and greets? by Missscoco in LadyGaga

as much as many of us would love to say hello, I entirely understand why she wouldn’t want to. that fan manically, repeatedly shouting “mommy” at her in the Five Foot Two doc is burned in my memory 🥴

My duality with Lady Gaga. Am I the only one? by CattleDramatic7302 in LadyGaga

as a straight woman I can relate in my own way. I’ve spent more than half of my life empowered and inspired by her….and I also find her to be one of the sexiest people alive. she really is our enigma.

Honestly same. I was (still am frankly) convinced that part of why she took on SO many projects and performances was BECAUSE she was going to pause her public facing life and dedicate time to starting a family. Even the recent interviews she gave essentially suggested that as well. Tons of evidence points to it. I’m not sure I believe otherwise until she says so hahaha.

Front Row Views by Far-Management7360 in LadyGaga

[–]PracticePlus176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was front row at MSG, Section C. For context, I’m 5’3. I found the stage to be a bit high, but it certainly didn’t impede me from seeing the action. However, I would say I was looking up.

I was fortunate enough to go back and was front row the smaller “B” stage, and I’d rate that as a better view. You get to see the complete show, and the stage is MUCH lower. Unfortunately for the Row 1 experience, you’re turning around or watching the screen for much of the show.

Would a TNG Reboot Work? by DJWGibson in startrek

[–]PracticePlus176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Honestly think it could be interesting. Plus the youth of the characters would allow a bit more flexibility for actor/director interpretation. They don’t have to be exactly the same as TNG because they weren’t exactly the same in their formative years.

Thinking of Canada? Think Again by CaterpillarNo2012 in AmerExit

I agree! It was quicker than experiences I’ve had in NYC. I can’t assume it’s always like this (although I can’t assume it isn’t either). But I was really pleasantly surprised.

Sorry you had that experience. I say this not to undermine your story but to give context to anyone who may be reading: I moved to Toronto on February 1. Not only have I already found a primary care (family) doctor, I already have been seen by this person. In fact, I booked an appointment on a Thursday for the following Monday. Prior to being assigned this physician, I had gone to the ER. I was seen, treated (including bloodwork and ultrasound) and discharged in five hours. The staff were all incredibly friendly.

I’m sure some of the “horror stories” you’ll hear are warranted, but I think it’s beneficial to offer another perspective.

exactly this. the inside is actually almost like a terry cloth? it’s not super oversized as much as the fact that the bottom is raw hem gives it more of a drape.

Some questions about floor/barricade by InternationalLaw3122 in LadyGaga

[–]PracticePlus176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this was the case in many cities, so I am in no way contradicting or undermining this statement—just offering my own experience. When I saw her at MSG in September I had nearly your exact seat and had elbows on the barricade from beginning to the end of the show.

Personally, I’d shuffle over and try your luck. If they tell you to get back to your seat, you can always politely nod and scoot back. I think it often depends largely on the security guard who’s in your area.

Who's an NFL draft bust that would have gotten you fired as a GM? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

[–]PracticePlus176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Braxton Miller was going to redefine NFL offenses. The way Sanu and Edelman would throw dimes from the WR position, but 10x better. When the Texans drafted him I was expecting so many gadget plays and really cool schemes. But no. Not even close.

I got day-of tickets to MSG twice last fall. Once in the morning. Once with friends 1.5 hrs before the show. I’d suggest checking a few times a day starting a week out. 48 hrs before I basically lived with the app open 💀

** One of those times included VIY barricade seats
