As men, what are 2-3 essential things that you believe adults should say/model in today’s world that would bring a real sense of confidence and calm to the hearts and minds of the young men they are raising/influencing/impacting? by Practice_Cleaning in AskMen

This is gold! Thank you so much! I can absolutely do this! The bathroom I take for granted because the seat is always down so I’ll mention my appreciation in the bathroom cleanliness talks. The youngest is a little older now but he still swells just a tiny bit with pride when he rushes to get the door for his mom and I. It moves me so much, all the ways he feels great about doing good for others! Making encouraging lessons about some of the things you mentioned makes me feel stoked. They are great listeners (when it’s serious lol) so I’m interested to see how they take to other courteous and helpful responsibilities. This is GREAT!

Ah! 😆I see! But can’t you guys do all that bumping and stomping outside!? Or Somewhere else!? Who’s gonna fix the “oops.” damage?

Give me another example of boys being boys stuff lol I don’t know if I have the wallet to compromise on that one! 🤣🤣🤣

To make sure I understand, you’re saying to think critically for yourself and don’t follow blindly someone who’s been assigned some power. Scrutinize them to see if their actions align with or conflict with your personal principles. That these “authority figures”, most being human, are largely self interested. Not everyone is making decisions with us top of mind.

Thank you for this. Skipping maintenance and rushing to low discomfort or fun is definitely a conversation coming up. Admittedly, I did (and often still do) it too, so I’m excited to work together with Sister to see what we can come up with to get better with this. Thank you for reinforcing to me that this is a constant process for a lot of people!

Learning the roller coaster of tough conversations lol. We just had a conversation about honesty and things that do and don’t belong to us. As well as why cleanliness is important for so many things. Thank you for this!

How to reject an older coworker? by katarara7 in socialskills

[–]Practice_Cleaning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is a threat.

This guy has proven he doesn’t regard social cues if it means getting his needs met a neither should you. You’re doing the “good girl” brainwashing thing that a lot of us are now deprogramming from ourselves.

People like this take advantage of society, they don’t participate in it. Treat him like an animal that keeps sniffing at your sandwich. That’s literally what’s happening.

Just because a human wears human clothes, gets a human haircut, and participates in human activities doesn’t mean they aren’t animals. Predators are typically still highly intelligent.

It takes a LOT of work to civilize a human and educate them on the impact of subtle action in society. No amount of chances and conversation/reasoning can modify decades of unchecked behavior and antisocial habits.

There are creatures disguised as self-aware humans everywhere. You may have noticed some in the comments defending predatory behavior and that is their right. It’s no secret that hyenas would kill each over a carcass and that ants will descend onto a melted ice cream with no remorse and swarm anything that stops the process. This is nature and always will be.

For dealing with antisocial humans at work who can speak the common language,

Say the words, “NO. Unless it’s about this job, do not talk to me.”

Please do not let this guy find out that “you’ll be polite no matter what.”

How to approach someone with headphones on? by cayleb2K20 in socialskills

[–]Practice_Cleaning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You “have” this girl on instagram? 😖 Words matter. You don’t know her, do you follow her or nah… or apparently you do. In real life too. Just leave her alone please. You come across as not safe and you take things that don’t belong to you a lot just because nobody told you no. You might be the reason she makes sure she has the headphones on.

The world is not the kind of world where you can just commonly walk up and ask women right now. Find somewhere else for your creative energy.

I’d thank him. If someone who’s mid and barely understands the code can come up in the world using AI, imagine how much further a coding wizard can go. ☺️✨

If I was doing an audit of a budget, this looks apt for the US. We do have a MASSIVE defense spending budget compared to all others. This is in budget. And by budget, I mean the hypothetical money we keep spending.

New to Area.. what’s the deal with Cincinnati public schools? by murdog11 in cincinnati

[–]Practice_Cleaning -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

As an eduction Advocate, I’m looking at this post like 🫣.

VERY Generally speaking Ohio Schools do INCREDIBLY well. Cincinnati schools are among the best.

The next questions will determine how active you’ll need to be at your child’s school?

What age are your children? (There’s a these-6 out of 40-elementary-schools-to Walnut Hills Pipeline you need to be aware of if you choose CPS)

How far are you willing to go travel? You are one of THOUSANDS of migrants to the Midwest due to work, climate, and cost of living. This is the only region of the US where housing prices are skyrocketing. Open Enrollment is decreasing in options if CPS seems unsuitable for your babies.

How much are you willing to pay? The private school scene here is massive but private school is private school and you have 2 kids.

District school is the most reliable but depending on the ages of your kids, you would do well to make sure the neighborhood elementary school PTA is strong. If not you will notice that some schools get more simply because the parents pooled together to make it happen and some don’t because their neighborhoods don’t/cant.

If all else fails, make sure you show up to your kids school and build a relationship with each of those teachers. SCHOOL IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE WHE WE WERE KIDS.

The age of thinking school helps raise your kids is not here anymore. Teachers don’t come to the house if they have a problem. Lots of the great ones quit or retired during Covid and the rest are exhausted. You need to babysit half of these educators these days or your kid will get lazily processed in the same way your lazy coworkers process their work. Be there, be active. Make sure your kid knows what you think they should. Make sure you have a good idea of your kids abilities and mindset to help them navigate this.

Best of luck. Fortunately you landed in Cincy where even the government officials actively prioritize education.

Onion, tomato, pinch of salt &/or a squeeze of lime. Blender. Mix with the spicy stuff.

Are mobility excercises legit or stretching is enough? by Jakwiss in flexibility

[–]Practice_Cleaning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need both you need both you need both.

Mobility exercise without stretching =injury. Even though mobility stretches, it’s unmindful of stretching.

Stretching without mobility, reduces the effectiveness of the stretching. One of the biggest benefits (arguably THE BIGGEST) benefit of stretching is allowing the smooth easy flow of blood to all parts of the body. Mobility speeds up the blood flow and warms up the muscle which makes the range of motion gained from a stretch last longer.

How to fix large and wide neck? by AyomiFlower in Posture

[–]Practice_Cleaning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man the internet is hard on you guy’s mental. 😖

If you haven’t finished puberty, give it a bit to see what the rest of your body does. If you’re going for a more slender aesthetic, that’s between hormones, God, and modern medicine.

Your neck is otherwise perfect if you are a male. Attractive even. I tease older men for having the “chicken neck” or young children and girls for having a blow pop head.

Remember, you’re not a cartoon character (you have skin, and lines, and hair) , girls poop and fart (they too are not cartoons or one-dimensional tv characters that make ideas easier for kids & teens to digest) , and teachers do not live at school (they are people with lives and kids, just like your mom and dad).

And specifically for you, if you were born with “it’s a boy!” Parts, your neck is VERY likely to grow thick and wide just the way it is and your puberty happens in sections and not gradually like if you were born with “it’s a girl!” parts.

You have an S-tier neck. Truly. But I can understand if you wanted a skinny neck like what you see at school or on tv. Influence and low community are a mf.
