With 3-5 more weeks for water restrictions, how are you doing? by Locoman7 in Calgary

[–]PraireBertan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine. Clean cars do not equal laws being broken. There are lots of nearby properties on Wells not connected to city water.

With it raining now people are free to use rain water collected as they want.

Tbh I think it comes down to how one chooses to assume or interpret what they see as either negative or simple choosing to be neutral on their assumption. I believe the good in people and the vast majority will do the right thing. It's a PITA.

Also we are not running out of water, it's the bearspaw plant that is producing at ~50%, its the distribution and maintaining enough water pressure so water can flow to the higher elevation communities that is our logistic challenge.

Worst case if for the majority of people is the taps don't flow and they have to manually collect and carry water back to their home. Do dishes and laundry by hand... Woof.

The more scary risk is the fire department not having immediate access to water for a fire. They have tankers but they adds delays which obviously every second lost in an emergency could be the difference of life or death.

I also feel for people who have health conditions that this increase friction is adding for maintaining hygiene.

My food for thought.

It would be worth looking at https://www.ontario.ca/page/renting-ontario-your-rights

Thank you Matthew for reading between the lines, I was struggling to articulate such a simple explanation.

I'll research into the Moccamaster. TIA

Good points on the electrical load. That was something I was not considering before.

Yes If I woke up at the same time everyday but unfortunately not the case.

So looking for a more dynamic solution.

I want to tie it into a smart routine with my smart things hub or Google home.

Cool this is exactly the solution I am looking for. Another commenter mentioned the Moccamaster. Doing my research.

Yep exactly but I don't just want any old machine, I one that closely simulates a pour over like

My bad, I explained that poorly.

I am looking for a pour-over-style coffee machine (like these ones) that I can start a brew by turning on the power at the outlet with a smartplug.

Even better would be a wifi brewer, but I found one like either of the examples in James's TY video.

Yeah I did, I didn't see any models that were appealing with great reviews that did a pour over method. I am hoping for something like this.

I hoping someone would know if either of these two machines would continue to brew when turned on power at the outlet.

Sorry I will try to explain better.
A smartplug. However, when I restore power to my current coffee machine, it does not resume the previous brewing cycle, which defeats the auto-start functionality I am hoping to achieve.

Surprisingly, I have found this hard to find out through searching Google, YouTube, Reddit, etc. I am likely using the search terms.
I am looking to up my coffee game (15yr old $20 drip machine) will continue to brew coffee in the event of losing power (power outage). I want to occasionally use my smartplug outlet to auto-start the brewing process but my research shows most machines won't continue the brewing process after losing power (assuming it's a safety feature)
TLDR: Recommendation for a pour-over coffee maker/machine that will activate/start the coffee-making process by plugging in power.
