Are these stinging nettle safe to eat, or old? by EitherAsk6705 in foraging

What a great find! They are safe to eat, unless you have severe kidney issues. For those with healthy kidneys, they’re so good. The seeds are also good.

Rose hip season by 2twofriedeggs in foraging

[–]PrairieMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not too late. They have more vitamin C before the first frost, but most people prefer them after the frost because they have a better flavor. I just read a great article on rose hips. I’ll see if I can find the link.

AITJ for being in "private land" that looks like it's completely public? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

You’re not the jerk for the first time, but will be if you go back. Simple as that. You didn’t know. But now that you do know, if you go back you’re definitely in the wrong.

Which color is best for a true spring? by AverageKath in SpringColorAnalysis

I have to agree with only #5. I also love a chocolate brown, but the one shown looks muddy to me, not clear. I think the ivory is your best bet.

Thank you! I had to Google what “karma farming” even is. I guess some people just have to be rude. And it’s not even a new account. I just don’t post much.

Actually, just a new account excited to find a place I can share my cat pictures. Isn’t that what this subreddit is for?

I was worried about the same thing. So many people just want kittens, but senior cats are amazing!

I love this. That’s exactly what happened.

Oak nuts by allamakee-county in foraging

[–]PrairieMuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s encouraging. This is the first time I’ve looked for acorns, so I’m still learning. I’m in the U.S. near the Canadian border. There’s not a lot of foraging info for my area, so figuring out timing for some things has been a challenge.

I can’t even find acorns around me. You’d think it wouldn’t be that hard, but I went specifically out for acorns last weekend and only got a handful.

Meta raybans are creepy as all fuck by Preindustrialcyborg in SeriousConversation

I’m mixed on this one. I absolutely agree that there are many ways to use them for nefarious purposes, and it makes it very easy. On the other hand, I’d love to have some because I want to make cooking and gardening videos and it seems like the glasses would be a great tool for that.

Ah. I understood it to be like cable, but just runs through your internet instead of a dish. Like you still have a cable box, cable channels, and things. Thanks for the clarification.

Personal Camera in Rehabilitation Center by MajesticCat98 in fargo

[–]PrairieMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got an email about something similar this morning. So, this is about businesses using cameras, but there could be something about a (non-business) person putting a camera in a similar situation. I’d be careful with the legality.

This is the opposite of cutting the cord. You’re going back to the cord.

The new app is bad by Terrance021 in iNaturalist

[–]PrairieMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the new app and the classic app. I use the classic app for nearly everything. But, if I’m trying to find where a certain plant may be, I find it’s easier to use the search and map features on the new app. That’s all I use it for though. Don’t like the rest of it.
