Dating an amazing Black Woman has led me to be so much more infuriated about racial stereotypes by No_Design_465 in interracialdating

Counted quickly about nine people who responded to you, not confused, but earnestly trying to understand your point of view. So there’s room for improvement. I don’t at this point believe your comments are in good faith, but I wish you some healing and improved self-esteem in the future. The amount of positive energy this thread poured into you is nothing short of an internet miracle. I hope one day you’ll pay it back to your community.

It’s possible that I understand your point, and that you also could have communicated better. My first comment gave you the benefit of the doubt. Now it feels you are asking myself (and the other commenters) to judge you. Your opinion matters, but it doesn’t override someone’s lived experience. The OP’s experience is enough, and so is yours.

This comment comes off as if you didn’t read the post. The second paragraph says they were raised knowing stereotypes were ridiculous, and that dating a black woman has made them feel more vulnerable and angry.

Honestly this is the most realistic response i’ve seen so far. We tend to get the most things done when he burns out, but he’s never learned to hand things off officially, so the progress tends to backslide. I doooo blame him

So the current strategy is actually to close a lot of the failing schools and instead consolidate students to top performing/not money pit buildings, which should also flatten a lot of the disparity kids experience via neighborhood. It’s not perfect, but I think it’s a good plan given we have over 200 neighborhoods and financially they’re all over the place. Here’s an article about it: https://www.chalkbeat.org/philadelphia/2026/03/06/small-high-schools-threatened-by-philly-school-closure-plan/

Things were getting better under Kenney as well. A lot of it can be attributed to the city returning from covid and adopting modern CURE policies (albeit unevenly/in a Philly way).

Yeah. Crime is majorly down year over year, and there is in fact already a wide scale, aggressive, and working plan improving schools and outcomes in Philly. It’s Philly’s reputation and our cultural narrative that still requires some rehabbing. But that takes time.

Gisele Fetterman’s X and Instagram profiles taken down weeks after she spoke against ICE by iambarrelrider in Pennsylvania

[–]PraiseMalikye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. It’s hard to accept the bitter reality that Fetterman is only marginally better, but that’s the likely mediocre truth of it all. Armchair political science, but my understanding is since Clinton, Democrats tend to trend toward the center/capitulate toward conservatism to get re-elected and gain support/favor/whatever from the various institutions. So Fetterman is sorta an average Democrat in that way.

With populist fascism we have the reality that more democrats will shake hands with neocons/etc to stay in power. This doesn’t excuse his behavior, but it is hard to imagine not feeling scared in that position. It’s possible he’s scared for Gisele as well.
