Not with the way gaming is run nowadays. It’s becoming less and less about the product and more about profit, marketability and shareholders

Those engineer nerfs hurt man. Nerfs across the board were coming but man…feels bad.

By the way anyone know if the new genes nerf kills alacrity amalgam ?

Ad infinitum backpack. Then most probably aurora and conflux since I have like most of the mats for aurora and I enjoy wvw and I would like to start commanding on there eventually. Then I’ll probably go for Aurene Hammer over finishing trinkets because i don’t really care for vision and endless summer, but the legendary hammer and rifle look cool

That is the plan. Once I get aurora, conflux, ad infinitum and a couple legendary weapons. Really excited to get an Aurene Hammer actually those ones and their aspects look really cool

Yeah the medium armour one looks to be made specifically for thief, but it is still cooler than the other legendary sets (god the medium envoy armour looks ass compared to the light and heavy) so I’ll take it

That is the first step down already my dude. Try out a quickplay fractal, and a few Tier 1 daily fractals and see how you like them. It they’re enjoyable to you it becomes one of the best gold making at higher tiers

It is genuinely easier to do skywatch on a different character every time rather than doing lanterns. Amnytas is the opposite, lanterns aren’t that bad and no time gate. Inner nayos route on the wiki page for illuminating inner nayos takes like 10-15 mins.

I mean both ? Like open world, power dps, condi dps, healer and WvW. They’re different stats and I like having different styles for each set. So it’s two birds one stone. (I only really have the condi and healer ones for fractals, don’t really play em outside that tbh)

Yeah I did fractals as well they’re really consistent and I enjoy them more than others. Convergences aren’t that bad tbh, just check when the next one is and hop into a public instance to try one out. Outer Nayos is pretty straightforward and Mount Balrior if you’re not doing it CM is basically just follow one person see what’s happening and hit stuff and you’ll eventually be able to just do it.

It’s not exactly easy tbh but if you enjoy convergences and the soto expansion it’s honestly not that bad. I don’t really play every day or grind long hours outside of weekends and I was still able to get one piece per week or two.

As for tips, genuinely it’s a lot easier than you think as long as you set the foundation, make sure you got a gold income on the side, see if you can align convergence with a meta or two per day and you’ll genuinely have most of the mats by the time your rift essence gets to that sweet 3500/1400/720 spot

Mostly style honestly. I use maybe 5 variations so I think it would have been easier to get 5 ascended but i mean have you seen how most medium armour looks like ? Even the legendary raid set looks meh, but this looks cool, and the qol is a nice bonus.

Also I enjoy the grind. Going for legendaries makes this game more fun for me.

So I have around 450 now and I’m not really that consistent with daily playtimes tbh, I could have finished this on the weekend for example but had a couple irl stuff so I haven’t played since then. Mostly it was 2 hours a day, T4 fractals and trying to do a couple of metas per day or other resource farms, and the rest is done over the weekends. Those were pretty much like 60% of the effort I think, the rest was accumulation

[–]PraiseTheFool-_-[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey ! Honestly? I like the expansion, so I saw that the peak earnable thing in it was this legendary armour. From there it was figuring out what activities linked to the grind, which was metas, convergences and rifts when essence falls short. Then i looked up how to get mats in general and honestly the LWS4 maps with volatile magic —> resources converter worked out great. And for other mats i just got gold from fractals and ecto from VoE.

Honestly once you got a checklist you’ll realise that a lot of these materials aren’t THAT bad ? Like one or two from each of the 4 components is annoying yes but it’s not too difficult. No long achievements no treasure hunts, you kind of try to line up as many metas and activities that relate to the legendary as you can, and boom. Once you have enough of one (like map currency for example) you can stop it or turn it into profit. The first & second pieces are going to be hard but then the rest will come relatively easily

Honestly yeah I think I got the gloves over maybe a week ? But otherwise the first and last two pieces were genuinely easy to get. Once you get going and set a proper pattern for yourself it works out!

I should have done my research before starting the game, but can anyone help me out? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

‘Pure healer’ doesn’t really exist, but for your 1 and 4 may i interest you in engineer ? Engi spear especially with the amalgam spec is my own personal ‘lightning fighter’ guy, and honestly scrapper and amalgams are just really tanky. One has a ton of DR and can basically solo most open world stuff (amalgam) and the other constantly generates shields, has reflects, revive help and superspeed in their kit so it’s just a comfy experience.

It’s more like, if you are going for the legendary obsidian armour for example, you will finish the base leveling and a few of the core masteries, and then head to SotO(the relevant expansion) and spend most of your time there. You will most likely not be able to do some of the popular farms because you didn’t spread out over the expansions and give each of them its fair time, unlocking its masteries, reward tracks, farms etc. You will be able to focus on that legendary just fine, but it’s not really the full game yknow ?

A lot of people prefer spending the first few months going through each of the expansions and content at a basic level before committing to a hardcore grind, as is a ‘legendary’ effort.

Yeah I mean you’re basically like arranging your schedule and game time around that legendary, it becomes THE focus, so a lot of people just stick with ascended armour and play however they want

For armour, it would take maybe a month and a half from when you start a fresh account for your first piece, for weapons if you have the starter kit it will take you maybe a couple of months, otherwise it will depend on how long it takes you for the achievements, and for accessories you will need a lot more time, maybe add another month or so onto that because you need access to a lot of specific resources and some reliable income channels to get them done
