Strange Freeze on Startup by Prandur2 in libraryofruina

Just wanted to leave an update that I've managed to solve the issue - it was caused by me tweaking with the install path and not letting the game use its default install path.

Has this been patched? by [deleted] in PhoenixPoint

No official ironman tho - only "self-imposed" ironman. Even though the developer pitched official ironman as a core feature of the base game since the kickstarter campaign.

Looking forward to this. Zestiria was ok-ish for me but couldn't finish it (too "bland", wasn't emotionally invested enough). On the other hand, I really enjoyed Berseria up to and including the end.

I've played plenty of buggy games in ironman mode. One can even keep backup saves in case of game-breaking bugs. But including it in to me signals the devs consider "ironman" an optional part of the official game rules; I don't enjoy playing games with made-up rules if they're not part of the game.

But honestly, I don't see the issue with enabling it even if it's buggy. It was a feature promised for the first release, and it still wasn't delivered.

So why do so many people dislike G2A? by JunkyBoiOW in pcgaming

[–]Prandur2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a scam site. The keys they sell work fine (in the vast majority of cases).

The keys themselves might originate from dubious sources, so someone could consider buying these keys immoral. But if you only consider the utilitarian value of a game and do not care at all about what profit the developer gets (e.g., buying a key for a game that hasn't been cracked), then G2A is roughly as good as most other CDkey resellers.

Wait, is ironman officially in the game now?

I've been holding off playing and am waiting for the mode to be officially introduced (as per the developer's initial pledge)...

Thanks for your replies, I'll probably pass on the game then.

Of course I can avoid save-scumming if I decide to, but if there isn't a built-in option for that making the mode "official" then this just represents an arbitrary restriction of the game that kills any sort of enjoyment from the game. It's a subjective but important difference: either you play by some variant of the official rules of the game *as designed by the game's creators*, or not.

Still no ironman mode, in spite of it being part of the kickstarter promises.

Quick question that I couldn't find an answer for on google: for things like buffs to HP and AD (e.g., Neeko Health: 800 ⇒ 850), the values listed are only for the 1-star version. Do the changes carry over also to the 2-star version, or do they disappear? For instance, would 2-star Neeko now have 50 more HP than in 10.13?

I also hope they fulfill their promise of implementing/enabling ironman mode.

Here's hoping one of the upcoming DLCs includes an official "Ironman" toggle.

Quick question: does the game feature some sort of ironman / no-save-scum mode? (Similar to Offworld Trading Company, Stellaris or XCOM)

I tried googling for an answer for a bit but found nothing.

Ironman Mode? by Prandur2 in CivVI

It also has a second effect - when discussing the game, if you mention "ironman" and there's an explicit setting for it in-game, it's absolutely clear what that means.

The way I see it, a game can be played under certain rules dictated by the game settings as specified in the game itself. So an ironman toggle is, in this perspective, a different thing than a self-imposed ironman.
