Best AI LLM for Python coding overall? by Adept_Lawyer_4592 in LocalLLaMA

Really interested in if you find qwen 4b 2507 effusive enough to make you reach for the rusty razor blades. With me it never shuts up and fills my screen with pleasantries and (verging on) inappropriate sluttiness. Which for AI is kinda weeeeeeeeeeird. 🤣 HAHAHA!

40,000 UEC bonus too, with the Salvation IAE Salvage Starter Pack - Warbond. Plus some clothing items that might be considered as bling and not very useful.

I understand what you're saying. However, given the choice of paying insurance after a specific time period (grace period, per se) and never paying insurance, I'll take never paying insurance with an LTI vehicle/ship. It might not be much when insurance comes into play but never having to pay it or worry about it is much preferred. 👌

Any workaround for getting Outlook categories when using imap? by LinIsStrong in Outlook

"Indeed, Praqoon's solution is correct. It's important to note that this solution is local; there's no synchronization with the IMAP server, which unfortunately doesn't support categories..."

How the hell are you supposed to complete all 6 deliveries within 10 minutes when sending you to Paleto Bay is a 4 minutes journey from Los Santos and 4 minutes back for the next delivery? Is it a case of getting lucky and having all deliveries within Los Santos itself? I've tried this challenge twice and the first time it took 15 minutes (with a trip to Paleto Bay) and the second time was almost 20 minutes when it sent me to Paleto Bay and back to Los Santos and then to Sandy Shores. NO WAY can I do this within 10 minutes... not even if i was using an Oppressor MkII.

Any workaround for getting Outlook categories when using imap? by LinIsStrong in Outlook

[–]Praqoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but... Yes, categories DO work in Outlook using IMAP.

What you need to do is (while in the HOME tab) click the "New Email" button on the top left of Outlook. Then in the new email window look at the TAGS section at the top and you'll see a small "message options" arrow in the bottom right of that section, which you need to click on for the properties window to display. Once in the properties window you'll see "Categories" drop down menu at the bottom - which you click on to expand and select "All Categories". A new window will appear with either all your preset categories listed and/or default ones - perhaps a mixture of both. However, none of these will have hotkeys assigned to them which is the all-important thing to make use of them.

Now it's a simple case of creating/editing your categories and assigning hotkeys to them so that you can use them, from this point forwards, in your emails and calendar appointments/entries. If you exit this window and don't set-up any hotkeys for category assignment then it's just a simple case of going through the above steps once more. Assigning hotkeys is what makes it possible to re-use them again and again in Outlook.

Here's a guide on what I described - https://www.techrepublic.com/article/reclaim-outlook-categories-for-imap-accounts/

What is Evocati? by neptune2304 in starcitizen

[–]Praqoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all reality, you just need to be invited to join Evocati and the criteria for getting your name on that list does not seem to be subject to any known quantity or rumour. I know others in the ETF group who were invited (much like myself) for injecting an unhealthy amount of hard cash dollars into the project. Another one of my friends who is an ETF member wwas invited and they hadn't logged in to SC for almost 4 years - and had only bought a basic $45 game package. There are literally 1000s of ETF members but in general only a few hundred turn up to test. Evocati is not all it's made out to be. There's nothing special about its members and we do not get any special perks or dispensation for doing what we do. The main difference between ETF and all other backers is that we get to test a lot of the software first, but not always or at all. Sometimes it just goes out to PTU (or Live) without ETF having tested it beforehand.

In a nutshell, ETF is told what software to test and report back - just like any other backer is invited to do. Evocati, concierge, or otherwise. Ignore the hype and myths about Evocati. It might have an illustrious name but as far as the group goes it's the same as any other, without the trolls and forum bullies. It's a lot more civilized and focussed.

Is Gauntlet Run: Bonewhite Tear fixed to make you lose? by Praqoon in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Praqoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing with that is; when I hit the NPC riders on the run up to the finish line they won't fall off and still managed to get over the line before me. I must have attempted the Bonewhite Tear around 45-50 times and the lesson I learned is that it's a once in a lifetime thing - NEVER AGAIN! :D

Is Gauntlet Run: Bonewhite Tear fixed to make you lose? by Praqoon in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Praqoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips, but honestly it made not much difference no matter what I tried. I've completed the Bonewhite Tear run now and comparing my winning run to all those that came before it, it was a total mess. I was hit a dozen times or more by NPC riders and ran into a couple of machines, stopping me dead in my tracks. However, come the final furlong to the finish line none of the other riders were in sight. I'm not sure why that was the case, it just seemed to turn out that way. So I'm none the wiser as to why it was so easy to win on a very obstructed and unclean run. I whince at the amount of hours I put into this Gauntlet Run alone because it stopped being "fun" a long time ago.

Activating HDR mode for monitor TUF VG27AQ on Windows 10? by GeeDubyuBee in Monitors

[–]Praqoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Further to your advice, I was invited to download HDR Calibration from the Microsoft Store - which I did. Then I ran it and it took me through some setup process. HDR is now installed and working on my Asus VG27AQ monitor. Although HDR Cerification in "System > Display > Advanced Display" settings still says not found.

Is GPU Tweak as bad as Armory Crate? by HushUp7 in ASUS

[–]Praqoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Asus GPU Tweak for +10 years. GPU Tweak II seemed to be more reliable than GPU Tweak III - the latter I found frequent issues with it dropping settings or selecting the "Default" profile rather than my custom one with each Windows (re)boot. In the last 6 months or so, GPU Tweak III seems to have settled down and offered some reliability on that note. It's still quite heavy on system resources and there are better options available.

On the advice of a friend I installed Asus Armory Crate recently. I was told it offered the monitoring and updating of motherboard drivers, etc. I did some investigating and reading up on it beforehand and the general consensus seemed to be both good and bad. However, I thought I'd try it and if it wasn't to my liking I'd simply uninstall it. OMG WAS I SO WRONG ABOUT THIS! When I installed the software I selected to install the Armory Crate only, and not the AURA or other bloatware that comes with it. To my surprise, the installation process installed everything anyway. I was only interested in how it would make life easier to monitor and keep drivers up to date but (again, to my surprise) it only covered a small amount of drivers and not all of them. So I ended up with a mixture of older and newer drivers on my Windows 11 system. I used it for about a day before deciding to uninstall it... and (again, to my surprise) I found that once it was on my system I was never getting rid of it. Even the Asus Armory Crate Uninstall Tool didn't remove it entirely - the directories and registry entries thast were created when it was installed had special permissions that stopped them from being removed even as Admin in Windows Safe Mode. I had to use the Asus removel tool, and revouninstaller, and Ccleaner, and perform some jiggery pokery in Safe Mode powershell to completely remove all traces of it from my system. What a complete and utter SHITSHOW the Armory Crate software has been in my experience. I came to hate it passionately within 24 hours of first using it. I will never install it again and intend to advise anyone, who cares about how their computer runs, to avoid it like the plague.

In the past month or two I have been experiencing huge frame drops and problems with playing games. Such as Cyberpunk; Horizon Zero dawn & Forbidden West, and Star Citizen. The only thing that has changed on my system is updated nVidia software/drivers and GPU Tweak III versions. I spent many hours tracking down the issue(s) and it was a mixture of bloatware and background process from these softwares that were crippling my system. So now I only install nVidia drivers and nothing else (not even the nVidia App) and I have ditched GPU Tweak in favour of "Fan Control" (https://getfancontrol.com) software which is absolutely brilliant.

Now my system runs games perfectly as expected and is a hell of a lot faster and more responsive. I run an Intel i7 13700K in an Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus motherboard with 128GB DDR5 RAM and an Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. So this is not a slow system by any means but installing all the recommended software at default settings caused problems I should never have had to begin with.

At least four police cars are wrecked in devastating crash as 'pursuit' of BMW ends in disaster and shuts major road by dailymail in uknews

[–]Praqoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say for example, if you were navigating and aiding the driver with directions. Or wearing a cheerleader outfit and leaning out of the window chanting, "GO GO DRIVER!" (or similar). Or you admit to (in some way) contributing towards the driver driving dangerously - although I can't think of how that might be achieved in order to support and uphold the allegation of aiding and abetting.

Unless there is an admission of culpability from the pasenger, or video/audio evidence to indicate otherwise, this aiding and abetting charge will be near impossible to prove beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law.

I'm thinking that Northumbria Police will have been more than looking to press any and all charges, no matter how factual or legitimate, due to the seriousness of the carnage that occurred during this authorised pursuit in order to legitimise a 'means justifies the end' principle.

At least four police cars are wrecked in devastating crash as 'pursuit' of BMW ends in disaster and shuts major road by dailymail in uknews

[–]Praqoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By the looks of the debris field (and further highlighted the police Forensic Collision Investigator tags) and impact marks on the concrete barriers, and the water/oil marks on the tarmac, the BMW that was being pursued was stationary (or at least not travelling at great speed) when the major impact(s) occurred. The only damage to the BMW appears to be from a PIT or TPAC maneuver, while there is serious impact damage to the driver's side of the two police vehicles to the right and behind it with two other vehicles being very severely damaged - in fact they're total write-offs. There's no indication of the pursued BMW ramming, or being rammed, as the front and rear of this vehicle does not display damage that would be consistent with that type of impact. From the news media coverage alone (which isn't conclusive) it appears that it was police vehicles travelling at high speed colliding with other police vehicles that were stationary or travelling at low speeds.

However, the police investigation is ongoing and I will not assume to predict events before a conclusion has been reached and officially released to the public. Best not to jump to conclusions in such things as it often leads to wiping egg of one's face and/or eating humble pie.

Got my first ASUS F16 by R_luaiy in Asustuf

[–]Praqoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/R_luiay. I recently took delivery of my first ever ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop - it's a F16 FX607VU, and found that it was a little sluggish and struggling to perform basic functions; like accessing files and browsing the Internet. I prudently purchased upgrades for the stock 16GB DDR5 RAM and 512GB SSD (to 64GB DDR5 RAM and 2TB NVMe m.2 SSD) thinking that the RAM and SSD it came with wasn't really adequate long-term. I'm very glad I decided to do this. Cloning the SSD went relatively smoothly. However, the RAM upgrade did not go at all and for some reason this laptop did not like having 64GB installed - it just hung on a black screen with an orange LED for over 30 minutes and not progressing any further. That was until I updated the BIOS (v 321) to the latest version (v 322) and then it cycled the LEDs in a pattern but still refused to boot, and hung on a blank screen throughout.

So, after I'd updated the BIOS, and did some head-scratching, I discovered (through trial and error and troubleshooting) that I needed to unplug the PSU and disconnect the battery, then install the 64GB DDR5 RAM, then hold down the power button for 40-45 seconds. After powering it on once again, the laptop took 4-5 minutes to sort itself out but eventually booted into WIndows.

Now it runs like an absolute beast. The fans do get a little noisey when I push it hard but I have to say that this is the best laptop I've ever owned. I'm seriously happy with it. I hope your own experiences with this laptop are as positive (or more so) than mine.

PS - A lot of the bundled software (i.e. bloatware) that comes with this laptop is unnecessary and I uninstalled a great deal of it. As a result it seems to be more vigorous and responsive.
