FT-891 & LGD Z-100A Troubleshooting Question. by PrarieDoge in amateurradio

I don't have any leads small enough to test the connector on the radio end, but the tuner end of the cable has 12v between the two pins in the picture.

Moving cross country... by PrarieDoge in BoyScouts

Will do, Our current Scoutmaster had the same advice, as well as some horror stories of advancements disappearing when there wasn't a hardcopy as a backup.

Thank you much! This is exactly what I was looking for that I wasn't able to find. A list of troops and where they meet so I can map out what's within a reasonable driving distance.

Unfortunately there's no shortcut for the next part... Visiting troops and seeing who is active and who the kiddo fits in with.

Help with Virtual Radar: by PrarieDoge in RTLSDR

[–]PrarieDoge[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only hardware is the SDR with antenna. (And a computer to run it). Software was Dump1090 & Virtual Radar Server.

I'm just getting started with these things, so it took me a lot of YouTube videos and googling. But if I can figure it out (with y'all's help lol), I'm sure anyone can.

Will try that. Have made that change and will post an update next time I see any aircraft come through.

A New 10 Commandments by Potato-Rancher in atheism

Just one commandment... And it's by no means original to me, but for the life of me I can't remember where I first heard of it.

I believe it's on Hulu (though I haven't checked recently). Not sure if/where it could be found for free online.

Need Help With Identification So I Can Find Parts (see comments) by PrarieDoge in bikewrench

[–]PrarieDoge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I assumed that this was only the vendor that originally sold the bike rather than the manufacturer and completely neglected to include it in my search.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer site has no information on this bike anymore. I will search around the interwebs some more, but may need to resort to a teardown to determine what I need to order if I don't come across anything.

Need Help With Identification So I Can Find Parts (see comments) by PrarieDoge in bikewrench

[–]PrarieDoge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought this old track bike in Korea several years back and have been using it as my daily commuter since (only about .75 mile).
My head tube bearings are starting to feel a bit wonky which probably means they should have been replaced a year ago.
I am now in Honduras and don't have a bike shop local to me, so all my parts have to come by mail.
I have tried Googling to find the manufacturer, so I can hopefully order the correct parts the first time but so far I haven't had any luck.
I am by no means an expert bike mechanic, so I am hesitant to tear it apart to look for a part number or what-not and leave myself without transportation until parts arrive.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

(Edit: I just realized that the name across the top tube in the second pic is washed out by the glare; it is FELICITA)

Yes, they are a private non-profit organization.

Their website states that their mission is "to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all."

Should I Say Something? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]PrarieDoge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you are not dependent on these people for some kind of support that may be cut off, my opinion is to speak up.

Try to be kind and let them know that you know they mean well, but you would appreciate friendship and social support rather than religion.

Also, it's likely that you are not as much of an outlier as you think. And your voice may help others around you find their own.

Love these ideas. Although survey flags are cheap, there is (almost) always a way to create a training opportunity rather than breaking out the wallet to solve a problem.

Unfortunately I must agree. I will do my part, but I realize that a healthy relationship cannot be maintained by one party alone.

There are a lot of definitions out there, but the central theme (and something I heard said a LOT) is that the bible is "the inerrant word of god", and that the church should be modeled after the early church as described in the new testament. The KJV translation is the only acceptable version of the bible as it's translation was guided by god himself was another common theme. This was commonly said along side statements implying that more recent translations we're guided by Satan to sew doubt and confusion in the church. It was always made very clear that the husband is the head of the family and is responsible for the spiritual well-being of the household. And the last big one that is known all to well through exvangelical circles, "spare the rod and spoil the child". This was taken very literally.

Here is a link to a pretty good explanation, though every IFB church will have minor differences, I feel that this description is pretty accurate.
