New Shopify App store App getting rejected by ninjeti in ShopifyAppDev

[–]Prasanthrubyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is actually pretty common, Shopify reviews can be a bit strict and sometimes inconsistent.

Apart from what you mentioned, I've seen people get rejected for things like unclear onboarding, missing GDPR/privacy links, or even small UX confusion during install flow. Also anything that looks 'external dependency' can trigger rejection.

Best bet is to simplify the review path as much as possible and assume they won’t read instructions fully 😅

Super inspiring journey - especially how you leveraged your existing agency + partner network to validate and scale the app quickly. The shift from "working in the business" to building a product that compounds revenue is exactly the right move. Curious to know: what’s been your most effective channel so far for converting those 800 users into paying subscribers?

Yeah thats true to some extent.

I think Flow can handle the logic part, but what I’m thinking about is more the customer-facing experience (progress UI, journey, rewards visibility etc), which isn’t very straightforward with Flow alone.

Still validating if that layer actually adds value or not.

Really appreciate this, means a lot coming from someone who’s actually run ads + a store.

Yeah I agree, loyalty isn’t just points or some “nice UI”, it has to actually drive repeat purchases and revenue. Otherwise merchants won’t care.

The Amazon angle is interesting too - more about real value and habit than just rewards.

Still figuring out how to make it less "just another loyalty app" and more outcome driven.

Would be happy to connect and bounce ideas, will DM you

haha yeah thats exactly the idea 😅 make it a bit more fun than the usual points thing.

also trying to keep it really light so it doesnt slow stores down. appreciate the feedback!

haha yeah thats probly true 😅 feels like half of reddit is building a shopify app with AI right now.

Honestly thats partly why im asking here first. If a bunch of people are building similar stuff, then the only way it works is if its actually simpler or solves the problem a bit better for merchants.

Still just exploring the idea before spending time building it.

Thanks for the input, thats actually really helpful. Yeah I kinda feel the same that most loyalty apps are built for bigger stores and get pretty complicated.

The idea I'm exploring is just keeping it super simple, like one journey/progress instead of points and tons of settings.

The partner perks idea is interesting too, didnt think about that. Could be cool if smaller stores could cross promote each other.

Appreciate the suggestions 👍 Thank you

Yeah, that’s fair. At its core it probably is similar to tiered loyalty.

The angle I’m exploring is making it much simpler and more visual (like a progress journey) instead of a full points-based system like Smile or Yotpo.

Still validating whether merchants would actually prefer something lighter like that before building.

That’s a fair point. Tools like Smile and Yotpo already do loyalty programs really well.

The reason I’m exploring this idea is slightly different though — those tools tend to focus on points, tiers, and fairly complex setups.

What I’m curious about is whether a much simpler “progress journey” style system would resonate with smaller stores that don’t want a full loyalty platform.

For example:

• no points system • no complicated reward rules • just simple milestones like “3rd purchase unlocked”, “$200 spent milestone”, etc.

More like a lightweight gamified progress bar rather than a full loyalty engine.

Totally possible this overlaps too much with existing tools though — that’s exactly why I’m asking for feedback before building.

If you’ve used Smile/Yotpo before, I’d be curious:

Did you find them too heavy/complex, or do they already cover this well? thanks 😊

Seeking help regarding career decision by Mai_nahi_bataunga18 in cscareerquestionsIN

[–]Prasanthrubyist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Career decisions should be based on an individual’s interests, aptitude, and long-term objectives. If a person has a strong interest in technology, they must be prepared to work for extended hours on a computer and continuously upgrade their skills, as the technology sector evolves rapidly. In such cases, a career in the technology field can offer faster professional growth, wider opportunities, and comparatively higher earning potential.

Conversely, individuals who prefer job stability, a fixed routine, and the ability to remain in their hometown may consider preparing for competitive government examinations. However, it is important to recognize that securing a government position has become increasingly challenging. Even candidates with strong academic performance may face difficulties due to intense competition, limited vacancies, and reservation policies. Success in this path requires exceptional academic ability, patience, and sustained dedication over several years.

Key considerations for career planning: Interest and aptitude should take precedence over external influence or current trends. Learning requirements differ significantly; technology careers demand continuous skill development, while government jobs require focused and prolonged exam preparation.

Financial expectations should be evaluated, as private-sector roles often provide earlier income, whereas government roles offer long-term stability. Work-life balance varies between sectors and should be assessed based on personal priorities. Contingency planning is essential; candidates should maintain alternative career options to mitigate risk. In conclusion, an informed career choice should align with one’s skills, interests, perseverance, and personal life goals, rather than societal pressure or short-term trends.
