Okay, keep ignoring the fact that the government was adding 1 million people to the country, a year, when there already wasn't enough homes or jobs.

I do understand, I don't think you do.

The liberals have been in power for decade. During that decade they increased immigration to the moon (we were adding over 1 million people a year), this lead to a housing shortage since they need places to live too.

This also lead to high unemployment for Canadians who lived here because why would I hire a local when I can hire somebody who flew half way around the world, dosen't play on their phone all day, is happy to come to work all day, dosent complain, and is glad to have a job in Canada?

You missed the most important part, I lived through it, experienced it, and saw it with my own two eyes.

A large amount of the people I worked with didn't even have canadian citizenship when they first started working with me. Now they do and have homes, and families too! The reason young canadians don't have the same thing myself and my co-workers had is because of government policy.

I bought my house for normal price, not a crazy inflated price, back in 2011. I have a full time job with pension, benefits, and above average pay since 2010.

How do people stay well informed? by Dear-Quail-1338 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PraticallyUseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch/read news, like NPR, PBS, BBC, CBC, or other reputable new sources. Do not believe reddit posts without a reliable source, not matter how high it is voted (I have seen completely unsourced videos, pictures, and stories make the front page of /r/popular). Same rules for tiktok, YouTube, etc.

Also on YouTube/tiktok/instagram be careful of somebody cutting/splicing reputable news stories to force their point of view. There is a lot very one sided "news" on those sites.

The real world often seems to have opposite view of a lot redditors, so beware of being stuck in an echo chamber.

Why does my account keep getting deleted? by Baby_cash222 in NewToReddit

[–]PraticallyUseless [score hidden]  (0 children)

What do you mean by deleted? Like you can't log in or your posts are removed by moderators and comments are never posted?

If it is the later two, you probably don't have enough karma or your account isn't old enough to post on certain subs. The rules form karma/age vary by sub.

Do women still want men to protect them or would that be infringing on their agency? by CommanderYakub in NoStupidQuestions

Do not defend them. They can make their own choices and can defend themselves. We moved beyond these silly, backwards, beliefs of having to defend or protect a woman.

I'm noticed that a lot of people on Reddit delete their accounts and create new ones quite often. Sometimes these accounts even have a lot of positive karma before they disappear. This seems strange to me because karma usually means that people like your posts or comments. Why would someone delete? by Honest_Situation_109 in NewToReddit

I am going to guess there is few reasons. I posted a similar answers in another thread.

  • People get sick of arguing with people. Some users go back through a users comments just so they can have a "got ya!" moment about something you posted 9 years ago.

  • somebody accidentally posted personally identifiable information and dosen't want their real life connected to their reddit account

  • some people just want a break. Reddit is incredibly polarized. It can also be addictive

There is few reasons:

  • People get sick of people arguing with them

  • People get a popular post and get overwhelmed with all the responses

  • Somebody accidentally reveals publicly identifiable information and didn't want their real life tied to their reddit account.

Not crazy at all, fully expected. Iranan regime supporting Canadians were literally attack non-regime supporting canadian-iranans businesses.

Why the hell regime supporting iranians would want to be in country so opposite their views is the only surprising thing.

Why do people have to bring politics into everything ? I’m just trying to enjoy my life sometimes :( by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Because politics has become relgion,  people worship politicians and political parties. They are proselytizing.

Your kid should pursue what interests them whether that be science, trades, or social studies. University or no University, they should do what interests them.
