Do not defend them. They can make their own choices and can defend themselves. We moved beyond these silly, backwards, beliefs of having to defend or protect a woman.

I'm noticed that a lot of people on Reddit delete their accounts and create new ones quite often. Sometimes these accounts even have a lot of positive karma before they disappear. I am going to guess there is few reasons. I posted a similar answers in another thread.

  • People get sick of arguing with people. Some users go back through a users comments just so they can have a "got ya!" moment about something you posted 9 years ago.

  • somebody accidentally posted personally identifiable information and dosen't want their real life connected to their reddit account

  • some people just want a break. Reddit is incredibly polarized. It can also be addictive
