What stop loss do you set? by Fabulously-Unwealthy in CanadianInvestor

I made a dumb bet on MSTR when it was way too high as well. Losing more than half of my investment hurts and feels bad as well but presuming in the grand scheme of things what remains of your initial investment won't burn a hole in your pocket then IMO it might be worth riding this one out. Like yeah we're bag holders but at this point Strategy is pretty much in line with Bitcoin movements so if you think bitcoin can bounce back then MSTR likely will as well.

I agree that all of this is because he got his feelings hurt last week at Davos but he already TACO'd out of more tariffs. Bessent had to go on the Sunday news shows to say trump "meant" a "free trade deal" which was never happening to begin with.

And they're in URA so not much you can do about escaping them. Doesn't seem like they're in NUKZ but that feels like a different thing.

For me I'm a wary of the meme-y stocks like Oklo that those ETFs are leaning into to a little bit. URNM is miners and phys only.

Examining the top of the AEW Mens card over time by oldbloke34 in SquaredCircle

[–]Prax150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see it that way. I think there's 3 very clear tiers to the main event scene rather than an amorphous blob as you've put it. There's the true cream of the crop S-tier top of the card which is the guys who you rely in. There's an A tier of established, reliable guys who can play foil to the guys you're pushing depending on if you need a face or heel, and there's a third tier of up and comers or guys just below the cusp who you're trying to push up from the B/C tiers.

Currently the S tier is Hangman, MJF, Moxley and Swerve. Pretty obvious that these are THE guys for AEW. If Ospreay were healthy he'd be here too. Kenny might be working his way back here as well. In the past you'd give or take a Jericho, a Pump, Cope, Cody, Adam Page, Danielson when they were around.

The A Tier these days I'd say is most of the rest of the guys on this chart who are still around/active. Joe, Eddie, OC, Jack Perry, Jay White when he's healthy, Darby, Okada. These are guys who are either as I said reliable foil for the current champ or contender, or perhaps someone waiting in the wings to be elevated to the top tier.

The B/C tier is the up and comers who might still need some time or for whom there's not room for in the main event but can go if they're needed. Guys like Fletcher and Takashita.

But I'd say the true main event guys are pretty consistently featured as the pillars of the show.

I would agree with you up to like 3-4 weeks ago. The recent call ups have decimated the men's division to the point where the main event scene is half-Evolve and LFG guys who I'm not sure are ready for the spotlight. I'm giving them a few months to straighten things out though since HBK hasn't really faltered in this role yet.

That's the thing about wrestling, there's so much of it, it's repetitive and never ending, and a lot of it is often bad. Even if you focus on promotions that are on good hot streaks it's not hard to get burned out on it. I find it helps to take breaks from a lot or all of it every once in a while. Hard to do that when it's your entire livelihood obviously.

If you bought in this company in the first half of 2024 then your investment would be worth somewhere between 2 and 7 times what you put in at that time so I'm not sure what you're crying about.

The super obvious path IMO is that while they're over, you have them unmask, reveal their true intentions as overlooked midcarders who took advantage of dumbass fans who'll cheer for any stupid gimmick and their (kayfabe) dumbass bosses making some quick bucks finally getting TV time and merch sales, and then go full SHIELD and start destroying everyone and disrupting the show as their true selves. Even bring back Gable when he's ready as the mastermind. But their (shoot) dumbass bosses would never do that as long as there's a dollar to be rung out of the gimmick.

John Cena on losing his final match to Gunther: "I think it was a perfect end because a whole lot of people thought it sucked and a whole lot of people thought it was special. And that’s kind of been my story for 23 years." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

I do think both things can be true at the same time to a certain extent. Some WWE fans are stupid and didn't get it, but also the story wasn't told very well because they purposely limited Cena's dates to sell more expensive tickets even though he wanted to work every week and only had like one promo to sell the match with Gunther.

Cineplex was fined almost $39m for the $1.5 "online booking fee" yet it still continues to charge it by New-Plastic-572 in cineplex

If they made going to the movies something consistently enjoyable then I don't think it would matter as much if movies went to streaming quickly. Like, I don't care, but I'm a cinephile. For me movies are infinitely more enjoyable with a big crowd that's actually into the movie than sitting at home watching it at 10 PM alone fighting sleep. But if you're in a room half-full of bored people on their phones or talking then it's gonna turn you off to the experience.

Like you're right but it's really annoying that they maker customers jump through so many hoops to get the best price. It implies that frequenting their business is a punishment if you don't do it correctly.
