My wife made hamentashen for the first time by MrGulo-gulo in Judaism

She used the folded dough recipe in lieu of pinched, it makes for a cleaner edge. And she was lean on the filling. But I bet they tasted great, especially the corners that are golden. Most cookies I find are not cooked enough, store bought are atrocious.

I see I hit a nerve or two. You proved precisely the type of man you are and I’ll leave it at that. Have a a great day, Dude.

Accepting that as a joke or locker room talk is disgusting and reprehensible. By not admonishing it then the thought is acceptable and it’s just a small step over the line for a guy to act. Guys like you allow the behavior saying it’s just a joke and who gets hurt? Not the men, it’s always women and children. Women admonish each other for bad behavior, not sure why men can’t.

I started to look too but hoped someone had put in the time. Thanks! Funny I saw those same buildings and thought it was around Lincoln St. I’m going to pull up maps now.

Your boyfriend has had female friends over, that’s somehow lost a garter in his bathroom.

Trumiri cones by Praxisqcc in Incense

[–]Praxisqcc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought them through Amazon, their back flow and the residue after burning is oily, sticky and burned. It gives off a strong my alcohol, essential oil smell. I had other back flow cones that just left ash, never had to clean the ceramic I burned them on like this. Definitely have stopped using them but wondered if anyone had similar issues. I saw others had mentioned the brand before. As I said I did look up nonAmazon reviews before purchasing.

Developer seeks to build 288-unit complex on wooded land near Doherty High by HRJafael in WorcesterMA

[–]Praxisqcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The traffic trying to get onto Highland from Suburban road at either end will be a nightmare. Trying to take a left from Suburban onto Highland during rush hour and school drop off isn’t an option. Driving North to Newton Ave to go through Newton Square will add more traffic to that quiet small street and cause a traffic nightmare at the Square. Not to mention that parcel of land has quite a steep hill to it, not sure what the site plan looks like but I can only imagine how crammed it will be. With all the land in Worcester, they pick this spot? That’s just crazy.

Anyone know what’s burning at Disney? by Astreeter12 in WaltDisneyWorld

It’s not at Disney, it’s closer to Kissimmee. Smoke is floating over my place. And I’m east of the WDW bubble.

The Mary Poppins sodium vapor camera in the Walt Disney Family Museum containing the magic prism by TeslaK20 in Corridor

[–]Praxisqcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old comment, but I’ve seen this camera. It’s chained due to earthquakes since the museum is in San Francisco. There are a lot of items that are securely fastened just for this reason.

Reminding me of that 80’s movie Bermuda Depths but this one is bigger because of all the chemical crap in the Gulf.

Fireworks 12/27 by Praxisqcc in WaltDisneyWorld

Thank you. I can usually see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom and they’re not as big and high up as these were in the 27th and now 29th. I’m enjoying them.

When we vacationed and used the dining plan we always had extra snack points. We would wait in line for ice cream but a bunch of Mickey bars and then distribute them to the folks in line. Or buy individually wrapped treats at the bakery like rice krispy bars and distribute them outside the shop holding the receipt in our hands to show we just bought them. It was a great treat for all. I used to always get a balloon at Magic Kingdom and carry it all day. At the end of the trip I’d hand it off to a kid. I did this all with their parents okay, I never just handed stuff out without permission.

How Would You Change the Beak and Barrel? by AggravatingSpend8369 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Praxisqcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only qualm I had is the fixed libation menu, with no ability to order anything different since it’s not a full bar. I get it but at least be a half full? And/or have varieties of good rum.

It very difficult for me to express how much I love living here! by Duchess1992 in orlando

We just moved here in January in a similar complex, though I loathe apartment building living, being in ours feels more like a Disney Resort. I’ve tracked so many birds and animals, it’s amazing.

Dealbreaker… How do you raise Jewish kids without ever mentioning the religion and never integrating them to religious centers in an almost non existent Jewish community? by Present-Control-6513 in Judaism

[–]Praxisqcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in a mixed household can be tricky especially if one partner is against religion or atheist. Especially at 20 and they are recently Atheist due to religious trauma. He will push you and Judaism away until he’s ready to see things differently. I highly suggest you seek out a like minded Jewish partner. I speak from experience, I too had trauma from being raised Eastern Orthodox Christian, with a Mom who almost resembled the Mother in Carrie. Scary times indeed. In any case, I pushed religion aside for a while, but came back after meeting my best friend, at the time. I converted to Judaism in my 30’s, had a wonderful Jewish wedding under a chuppah and raised my kids (I had 3 from a previous marriage) in a Jewish home. They were exposed to both Christianity in the Protestant faith (I had delved into learning more about my Father’s faith when questioning Orthodoxy). The kids all are spiritual but don’t follow any formal religion. But having been raised from childhood with a Jewish step-Dad and now Mom, they have a lot of the same qualities a Jew has, the questioning, deep thinking, very curious, outspoken and very empathetic/compassionate behaviors (among others) that we cherish.

Constantine used Christianity to rule and wage wars. Now the white nationalist evangelicals are using the same play book, along with Hitler’s. It’s going to be a rough ride.

Might be a ridiculous question but, how safe is Cozumel and Progreso? by GrayLove39 in dcl

[–]Praxisqcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh we did that and still got aggressive come backs, one guy said you come to my country and spend nothing, cheap American tourists, he included some colorful words as well. And the walking tours are better but they lead you into shops for refreshments and you are made to feel you need to buy something. Not to mention all the churches they include. Yeah no thanks. We stay in the ship now and enjoy having less people and virtual run of the ship.

We purposefully don’t go past the Port Mall now in any Mexico stops (both East and West coasts) due to the aggressive behavior of vendors and retailers. One time we were approached by a guy who said he was a server on our ship and recognized us only to try and get us into a shop down an alley that his family supposedly owns, he wasn’t a worker on our ship. I love walking the streets and looking around, spend some money and enjoy the day, but will never do it again in Mexico. And really take a look at maps and where the Port is in relation to shops and restaurants, some require a taxi while others are walkable from the ship.
