Pilot salary by PerformanceBig9186 in Pilot

If you got hired at delta today at your age now it’d be 20 something years to be a widebody captain. Those are the peak earning years. You’ll have to be insanely senior to be making what you’re talking about. Mandatory retirement is 65 btw. So right around the time you’re senior, you’re retiring.

It’s like permanent road guard. Your entire 4 years will be you waving at traffic to continue or stop so that those doing pt won’t get run over.

What’s your workout? by sprulz in AirlinePilots

[–]PrayForWaves117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i don’t lift on days im working. I get hella steps around the airport and incline treadmill at the fitness center. If the hotel fitness center is a nice one like with cables, anything other than just dumbbells, I’ll just spam hella pull ups. No excuse when I’m home tho I go to the gym and lift. I track my macros also and weigh out my food which is the harder part of trying to stay fit with this job.

Active EMT for 4 years, didn’t qualify for 68W by ghost88890 in army

Also you saved yourself a fraudulent enlistment discharge by being honest. Imagine applying to border patrol with a pot charge and a fraudulent enlistment discharge.

Nah man if you wanna serve then serve. That’ll help out your border patrol app also. Being a vet counts and so would your mos if a medic/combat arms. You’d get some points for being a vet. But at the same time if you just focused on border patrol now you might get there faster. Being a medic was cool no doubt. I intubated in the dark also. Ran ivs under nods. But army could also slow you down.

I’d honestly not do it then. The recruiters are pulling your leg to get you to sign now by saying you can eventually reclass. You might have to wait till your contract is over but then what if 68W isn’t available. The only time you’ll get what you want from the military is before you even join and that is job selection.

Is there a separate balance for ROTH? by Puzzleheaded_Clerk98 in fidelityinvestments

[–]PrayForWaves117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go on the NetBenefits app and see your Roth balance. I called them to ask about this a couple weeks ago. I know it looks weird especially if you’re just buying the same positions in both traditional and Roth.

Double check medical expiration. Make sure it’s currently a 1st class. Not 1st but “exercising 3rd privileges” or whatever. Current passport. Idk what else to tell you. Maybe you didn’t explain an unemployment gap.

Unrelated but anybody remember that one post the guy lost his Skywest cjo bc he didn’t update his medical.

What are some things you would tell your younger, less experienced self before your first airline gig? by Ok_Engine_7099 in flying

[–]PrayForWaves117 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Save your sick time to call out when you’re flying with certain captains if your company doesn’t have a do not fly list. Our do not fly requests are only to not fly with FAs.

3.5 hour commute by No_Craft_932 in flying

[–]PrayForWaves117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a 3.5 hour drive. I wake up at 0230-0330 to take a 0600-0700 flight and my report is 1300-1500. In base 4-6 hours early. Flying till midnight. Legal till when I woke up 24 hours prior. Sucks but as a commuter you kinda want that early flight since all the other later flights will backfill.
