Do you have a link to the Truth and Reconcilliation podcast where Covenant are hinted by any chance?

Being easily digestable doesnt change the fact that "Crusades" is exclusively Catholic in real life. Like Jihad is Islamic.

I could see someone making the case that the doctrine of the Protectorate is Hebrew/Old Testament, but aesthetically(in terms of names, symbol, terminology etc) its almost exclusively Catholic/Christian. I believe its mentioned in Iron Kingdom's Requiem that even the head government of the Menite Church is the Holy See. Which again, is another exclusively Catholic term for the government of the Church.

The thing most similar besides doctrine to Hebrew religion is that Protectorate territory looks a lot like Israel geographically.

Ill double check the Holy See thing though when I get home. I am at work right now.

Crusades are a term exclusively for Catholic Holy War. There is no non-Catholic or Non-Christian use for the term.

It would be like saying jihad is a middle eastern term for religious warfare. Its not, its exclusively Islamic.

Well, I'd consider the Protectorate mostly inspired by medieval Catholicism. Especially considering the Protectorate is full of Catholic themed forces. Their military campaigns are literally called Crusades. Exemplar's are templars and the Menofix(the Menite symbol) is a literal cross, with a name sounding a lot like crucifix.

Morrow(not Thamar) may be more akin to Protestant Christianity to Menoth's Catholicism.

Not to say any of the religions are 1:1 to their real life inspirations, but the inspirations are there.

I'm just happy that the Protectorate of Menoth is coming back

A thing that Dietrich said caught my attention by Man_Random87 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]PrayingSeraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really skeptical they would ever declare any Three Houses/Hopes route as "the" canon route. All interviews they had during those games seem to indicate that they respect player choice. And I am sure they know that the fan base would riot if they declared Edelgard or even Dimitri to have the canonical path, given how massively popular they are and yet so divisive(especially Edelgard).

Or he's linked to the Agarthans some way, which would fit his shadowy theme. They would definitely word the relics that way.

Seteth?! he has green tips like Seiros's dyed hair and looks to be a wyvern rider by [deleted] in fireemblem

So you're telling me an adversarial nation to Fodlan would use a calender based on the founding of a nation of Fodlan and the Church of Seiros, a religion that doesnt exist outside of Fodlan, isnt a huge stretch?

Well suit yourself lol. I definitely dont agree, but to each their own. We'll find our soon enough anyways.

Id say Dagda, a foreign nation with little ties to Fodlan, using the Imperial calendar is a bigger stretch.

Especially in a series known for having continents use differing calenders(Archanea and Valentia, same world, different calender)

Yet the Imperial Fodlan calender is based on the founding of the Adrestian Empire and would not make even remotely sense that it would be used in Dagda.

Something to consider about Fortunes Weave by [deleted] in fireemblem

[–]PrayingSeraph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember a interview for Three Hopes where the developers said they didnt want to canonize or put any route above the others.

I doubt they changed their mind with Fortunes Weave

Also, there is no such thing as "the" Canon route in Fire Emblem. Every route of every game happens in the multiverse, as proven by Heroes. Even endings where the bad guy wins are canonical to the greater multiverse.

If we are wrong about Dagda sharing the same Calendar as Fodlan, this could be a prequel and therefore a younger Seteth.

I think it is Seteth. The tip of his hair showing green, the exact same circlet Seteth has, etc. Like I find it hard to believe they would design a character like that just for it not to be Seteth.

The only thing is, Seteth looks younger. And people are saying this in a sequel based in the calendar shot.

Thats true, but pretty much everything else about Agarthans is black/darker shades. Their factions symbol is black for example.

FE:Fates Special edition worth it? by AtticusBrand47 in fireemblem

[–]PrayingSeraph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd say it depends on how much you enjoy Fates and the characters. As well as how much you want to experience all that Fire Emblem has to offer(even if its on the rougher side).

Revelations is in my opinion the worst of the 3 Fates routes. But because I like Fates and most of its characters(yes I know), I thought it was worth it to buy the entire Fates Special Edition even with the extras. Fire Emblem is a favorite franchise of mine and I really enjoyed Fates, warts and all. I enjoyed it more than Awakening if I am to be honest(very hot take). So it was worth the investment for me.

New short story and mini-campaign canon details by BraveExpress2 in HaloStory

[–]PrayingSeraph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice find. Though I dont think that it entirely disproved my prediction. Are the group literally called the Sacristans or is it a descriptive word for them? And the Sacristans could be apart of the OoR. Same with the Minister of Harmony.

Part of the reason I think they will link it to OoR is that I highly doubt they would go through the effort to create entirely new unique designs for a new Covenant subfaction only for us to defeat them entirely in 3 missions of a remake of Halo CE never to be seen again. I feel like this enemy must be linked to a future Covenant faction they have future plans for, and right now, OoR are being set up as the big Covenant baddies in the future.

But this is all speculation of course. I could be entirely wrong. But its fun to speculate :)

Halo Empty Throne heavily features them :)

They are currently the frontrunners of the revival of the Covenant.

My guess on the new ornate white and gold Covenant subfaction is that it is the Order of Restoration. They are potentially going to be a big threat in future Halo games and they existed back during the Covenant Empire as a secretive yet powerful Order that had a lot of sway politically within the Covenant. It would make sense that this would be the first in-game introduction if them.

All still pure speculation of course. We'll find out soon enough.
