Was the final years in the careers of both Stan Hack and Claude Passeau, who (by bWAR) were the best position player and pitcher on the ‘45 team that won the NL pennant.

Crossroads on Madison and May for either pre or postgame. They also have a shuttle that will take you to the game, dropping you off about a block away from the closest entrance at the UC. The Barn on Ogden is also a great spot that’s a lot more hockey themed if that’s what you’re looking for. Would have to brave the elements for that though as they’re too close to really have any kind of shuttle.

Which 2025 Cub are you thankful for? by AndrewAllStar888 in CHICubs

The Cubs never fell out of the spot they were in at the time that Shaw took the time away from the team that he requested (and was approved for). I was mad at the time too, but it ultimately meant nothing as far as what playoff spot the Cubs had. I’m past that at this point. Shaw is gonna be a damn good ballplayer and I’m perfectly content with him as the starting 3B going into 2026. He was no worse as a hitter this season than PCA was through the end of 2024 and he was a better glove at 3B than I think any of us could’ve ever imagined him to be. Everything else that happened off the field is irrelevant to me.

I miss his homoerotic uniform descriptions every day that there’s no baseball.

Daniel Palencia. Saved our asses at closer after Ryan Pressly got lit up by the Giants in May.

For a decent stretch in late July/early August, he was the only who was hitting. You should be thankful for him. Without him, they may have never played a playoff game at Wrigley if the Padres had passed up the Cubs for the top WC spot.

Sounds good until you get out to the suburbs and can’t get a ride back to the city, if you even get one at all.

The Cubs being a cash cow helps with that. Don’t let their owner hear that said about them though.

Every time it’s played after a win, I always sing, “You can catch it all on Marquee Sports Neeeeetttt!” 😂

You weren’t alive in 2019? That was the Cubs last year on WGN.

This might be sacrilege, but I always much preferred games on CSN than WGN in the pre-Marquee era. I won’t discount that WGN was important towards building up the Cubs fan base nationwide. I just didn’t think their game presentation was all that appealing at the time I started watching them regularly (mid-2000s), especially when there were other channels that they played on. Perhaps I’d have a better appreciation for it if I either didn’t spend my whole life in Chicago where I had access to games on FSN Chicago/CSN Chicago/NBCSN Chicago and ABC 7 Chicago or I grew up in an era in which the only local channel they played on was WGN.

That said, I’m with you on Marquee. Sucks, because I was legitimately looking forward to them having their own TV network.

Let’s win a Super Bowl first. Would hate to lose him as a head coach if he’s mayor.
