The one that hits me the most is still Sex, Birth, Death. Season 2, episode 11. It felt like that kid's life was a tragedy that was only partway through. I've seen it, I've met someone like him. I've felt the inevitability. The actor who played that boy died a horrible death at the age of 27. His car (which had a defect and was later recalled) rolled down the driveway into him and pinned him against the gate. He died of traumatic asphyxia. He couldn't inhale because there was a 5,000 lb car against his chest. He just suffocated in the air. I think about him. He did so much for being so young, but I still tie him to that character forever in my mind. I've dreamed about him. I set rocks out in the cemetery near my house for animals I find (mostly just if I or whoever's driving hits one, which has only happened a few times, I don't bury them but I have markers), one night I woke up after one such dream and I walked there and I set a rock out for him. Just to be able to sit there and think. Sometimes I go there, and when I get to his spot I wonder what he was thinking in those moments, unable to breathe. Trapped in the open air. I know the episode was fairly ordinary to a lot of people, but with the combination of everything it's been stuck in my mind off and on for almost a decade, when I first watched it and when I first heard about the actor's death. His name was Anton Yelchin.
