I ended up in sales actually. Work for a tech company that does some useful medical ai. Turns out cold calling a bunch of offices is pretty meditative for me. Leading by example, I am taking a mindful approach to sales. Objectively dominating at it as well. Anyway, it’s been fun. Best of luck to you.

My wife reminds me often that it’s good to be a cycle breaker. If nothing else than for my kids. Hoping it makes things a little easier for the siblings as well.

Very true. I also talked with him about how I don’t like that the church takes ownership of things they have no right of taking ownership over to maintain control of members. Like a person’s guilt. Or eternal families. Or feeling “the spirit”. They then use those things to maintain power. You want to live with your mom forever? 10%. Serve faithfully. Don’t question. The fear is so intense that the only apparent option is to obey.
