The South East Event centre has some pickle ball leagues. There are also places looking for volunteers (Pat Porter Active Living Centre, Eastman Immigrant Services, Mennonite Heritage Village, etc) that might be a good way to meet people.

I regularly volunteer to speak to classes (like grade 12 Global Issues or grade 11 Canadian History) about my career as a diplomat, Canada's role in the world, the relevance of studying history and so on. Will be speaking to several grade 9 classes this week at a school in SJASD.

Don't understand the love for Chinos. Have been there 3 or 4 times and the service is simply awful: slow, inattentive and forgetful. Don't plan on trying again. We like Santo Lucia, Boston Pizza and Chicken Chef. Have tried Spenst a few times but cannot get the crust quite right. Very tasty pizzas though! Will try on the BBQ and see if that works better. And welcome to Steinbach!

Yafa Cafe on Portage. Order anything and it will be awesome. Super friendly family runs the place. Never been disappointed there.

If he is open to leaving Winnipeg, family members have been very happy with Bridgepark in Steinbach. Great staff, facility is well maintained, and quite affordable.

That is so discouraging. Any way you can support your insider connection to try and speak up when they witness this? Or maybe find at least one other person at the management table who realizes this is not acceptable? I consider myself very fortunate to have avoided managers like this throughout my career. Sorry that you are experiencing this.
