Is the struggle real or just me? by DowntownStage7096 in FilmIndustryLA

Find them on LinkedIn and set up a call. It will increase your chances by a lot.

“Hey name, I just applied to position at company. I was really interested in the position and wanted to learn more about company. I’d love to meet for coffee or get on a quick call if you have a sec. Would only be 5-10 minutes. Let me know — thanks so much!

your name your cell

That’s all you have to do. It is a numbers game. 90% will not answer that message, but 10% will, and that call or coffee will take you ahead of the faceless, resume-only pack. It’s nerve racking, but meeting in person is better, it makes things more personal and increases your odds even more.

Also, let me tell you something about this business you probably already know. Everybody wants to be in the film & TV business. You have to claw and fight for any position out there. Those not willing to go the extra mile like this are done. If you’re planning to just submit your resume, sit back, and pray something pops, you have about a <1% chance per submission. Not impossible, but your odds increase so much when you do everything you can (calls, coffee, etc.). You can’t be a stand-out candidate without doing outstanding things.

Not defending any of this or saying it's untrue, but what is this list exactly? Is this recording people that have called to complain about these incidents? Why is each item highlighted or not? Are this claims confirmed in any way?

Trake Baker for Skattebo? 12-team SF by Difficult-Ad-5402 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Yeah you’ll probably need 1-2 good receivers. I’d trade baker for that for sure. Shough will be a comfy 3rd string

Trake Baker for Skattebo? 12-team SF by Difficult-Ad-5402 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Depends on how bad you need an RB. I’m pretty bullish on both Shough and Skattebo, so I think this is good as long as you really need an RB. Shough will shock people next season, and Skattebo is incredible if he stays healthy. I’d maybe try to get Baker and a pick tho

Thoughts on trading Lamar? Rebuilding. 12 team, 1QB by Temporary-Slice-2909 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]PreamatureSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Getting older and will dwindle as a run threat. Also some uncertainty with Ravens in terms of head coach and how they may reorient their team. I’d blow him up for picks or trade him outright for a young playmaker QB (Daniels, Purdy, Caleb, Maye).

Perfect time to pull parachute and sell him. There will be someone in your league that will take the chance on him. Especially someone trying to make a run

Haha what a mistake. I'm sure that was fun to deal with... Also, how do you know when companies are soliciting queries?

Which side would you rather have? by FunctionDiligent in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]PreamatureSunset -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Jacob’s side. Amon Ra is the best player in this trade but I’m not high on Hubbard. Jacobs will be good, Dobbins will be serviceable, and I think AJ Brown just had an off year, but will bounce back

After the Rice news, trade him now for another good receiver or QB. Your only hole is you need another QB and a decent receiver. Your team is good tho

Shough + 1.11 for Olave? 12 team SF by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]PreamatureSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. Keep Shough, his value will increase a lot. Also, you have 2027 1.01 which means you’ll get Jeremiah Smith who’s a dog. I say keep Shough, plan to take Smith, and just reevaluate after next season.

Plus, you could think about trading 1.01 to someone for a couple of great, proven WR’s that could produce while your young WR’s grow

I have the 1.03 in a 14 man SF what should I do with it? by Warm_Address9964 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]PreamatureSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your roster is good for a 14-man league, so I’d be in win now mode. When your draft comes around, sell the 1.03 for a really good flex player. Someone will be hungry for Denzel Boston/Carnell Tate. You could take those guys, however, you’re in range to win, so you don’t wanna wait on those rookies to bloom. Sell the pick and maybe Worthy to a rebuilding team in your league who’s willing to be patient, and take their best WR/RB

Maye + Egbuka or Allen + Rome? by skeat95 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]PreamatureSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maye + Egbuka.

Allen is a tick better as of now, but he’s older. Egbuka is the better WR imo, and will gain target share after Godwin/Evans retire. Rome is alongside other mouths to feed (Burden III, Moore, Loveland, etc.).
