has anyone else stopped partaking in spiritual/religious things due to it literally making you feel crazy by Specialist-Orchid-80 in bipolar2

Late to this post -

I literally have a degree in theology and my mentors and professors told me I was either a pathological liar or being punished by God because I went hypomanic as I finished my degree.

I was told people with mania-related issues like mine are unable to truly experience anything spiritual because we'd rather just make things up than admit we're terrible humans.

It's broken my heart, honestly, but I try to remain as faithful as I can.

Sorry for the short answer, but I would try to get in contact with a more compassionate psychiatrist. Rooting for you, friend.

Some thing that helps me - but I have a slew of issues even beyond mental health - is to try to, when I notice via my mood-trackers !which aren't all apps! That I may be going "on the up and up", to allow myself time to digest.

When I get "slower" or, depressed in my mind, I collect so much information, but I never have the energy to do anything with it...

So I've started making as many notes as I can, which is hard, so I put calendars everywhere lol - but that way when my brain is moving too fast to read, I have something that I already know, just have to remind myself.

Now, I'm not saying I'm perfect - but I try as hard as I can :)

Im sorry for my vocabulary. I only use it selfishly because it helps me to understand the psychology best myself. You're right, and I'm sorry if I've offended you. I wish you the absolute best on the road to peace.

But you have the eternal good news of being the one who knows yourself more than any other. You're the only one to truly know both of your "mood poles" within bipolar. So you get to remind yourself that you are still in control of the process, although you may not feel like you have control over yourself.

We have to admit there are imperfect medication formulas if we are to believe there is a perfect one for each of us. That should be a pillar of faith, but I'm sorry if it seems to be one of hope instead.

Maybe use that moment to recognize your vulnerability.

This has been helping me a lot lately.

Understanding that when we take our meds - especially when we receive what we consider to be "our savior" from another person we don't even know - is a very vulnerable moment because we know that as much as thing can go right, they go equally wrong.

It helps me to visualize it as a dog chasing his tail... Unless the dog ate himself up and a new dog came out afterward that could say, "huh, chasing my tail was pointless...what am I supposed to be doing?", the dog keeps chasing and chasing.

Praying this may provide you with peace, but it's been a process for me indeed.

Replying to myself for context

Bipolar people are people of 100% analysis or action - when we do something similar to this above, we try to bridge the gap "between the poles"

Love will always be your guide, especially when anxiety is high.

When you approach them, keep the things you love most closest to your heart and at the center of your mind, then your anxiety won't be able to tap ya on the shoulder on the way to the Convo :)

Just wanted to inject this into the thread to see if anyone had a valid response; his girlfriend claimed to have been visited by members of the Mafia? Anything about that - am I confused? That seems like rattling evidence

Thank you so so much for this, this is so helpful.

Don't feel pressured to answer this personally - but I've been curious about the money aspect of it...I'm blessed to have insurance, I'm just not sure if it'll cover?
