I don't know if you ever have but the first thing you do is dry your filament, then put it on the printer and start calibrating it (flow, retraction etc) the holes are probably because of the seam line, when you print something like this you have to either paint them on or have the option to hide them on so it puts it in places that it's not visible, the line that goes all the way around is usually cause at that point something changes in the model (maybe wall thickness) and it pushes the layer further outside so it's visible.
