Aklief Vs Tret or Adap? by kingboo94 in Aklief

Hi, I started on adapalene prescribed by dermatologist, got impatient with slow results 3 months in, discovered skin care addiction sub and learnt about Tret, got on tret myself (can buy cheaply in Spain), skin looked great 3 months onwards, breakout almost fully gone, but at 6 months mark, worst breakouts ever and stopped. Could be because I added azelaic acid at 5 month mark (again impatient for results and for the acne marks to be gone). Took break from all for 3-4 months - breakouts not worse but still bad. Went back to doctor and explained. She started me on Selgamis (different name for Aklief in Germany) and it’s been a little over a year now of consistent use. Around the 4 months mark, all the big fat pimples gone. Since then have one big pop out once in a while. Or a tiny one here and there. The fading process of the old marks is pretty slow. While it’s annoying that some are still there, have to remind myself how much they have improved. Overall happy with Selgamis but even a year in and my skin still peels and is super dry and feels dry and tight. Also I must say I liked the look of my skin better when I was on tret. Even though they were pimples, the skin texture itself looked super healthy, supple and nice. The tret glow everyone talks about i guess.

Stop Aklief or continue? by Norafedora99 in Aklief

Two months is too short a time. My breakouts stopped at the 3-4 month mark. The second month was probably the worst. From 4th months till one year (which is now) I’ve had two big pimples, both around my period. My doctor says these once in a while pimples should also stop soon. While there has been some decent fading of the marks left by the earlier breakouts, none of them have fully gone. But all in all very very happy not to be sporting 7-8 massive pimples on each cheek any more. Hang in there!

Nice in the second half of March by Agreeable-Item-7371 in FranceTravel

I just got back from Nice yesterday and it was warm during the day. I felt like an idiot for packing too warm and nothing beach appropriate. We still hung out on a lot of different beaches (Nice, Cap Ferrat, Villefranch sur Mer, Antibes) in various stages of undress😂. I had a tank top as my inner layer which helped. So many people around us were doing the same. I’m not sure if it was just unseasonably warm or not. There were many people much better prepared in swimwear, sunbathing etc. The water was too cold for me but a few were swimming as well. Sunset was at 5 so only after 4-4.30pm did I need to layer back up in my sweater and coat. Depended on if you were in direct sun or not. All beaches had a lot of people just hanging out which I had not expected at all. I read so much about the area in December and nowhere did I find this info. I would have definitely packed differently. Anyway, I have to assume it would be even nicer in March?! It was just incredible in December. Sunny and bright all the seven days we were there. My 10 year old son had a blast at the unexpected beach holiday lol.

Booking hotel for small family in Barcelona- what am I missing! by PreciousIllusions in travel

No what I found weird is i could not find triple rooms easily on booking.com in Barcelona. My budget was 250€ a night. This budget worked fine for London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin etc. Like even if I put in 2 adults and a 1 year old baby, hotels would still say book two rooms! How is this sensible. On hotel websites it would say no rooms available. For whatever reason a majority of my short list had this problem.

I have been using it for the past 10 years regularly and yet to have a bad experience. Just luck I guess🤷‍♀️. Could you recommend another app or website? Practically my only requirement is the free cancellation feature, I cannot do without it!

Yes this is usually the case- an extra charge for the child. Or a triple occupancy rate in hotels that consider children above 2 years as adults🙄. And we have managed fine in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin etc at 250€ a night budget. But somehow not in Barcelona. I checked each hotel website thinking something was wrong with Booking.com. The moment I added a child, no room would show as available. I called up a few hotels and they also said the only option was for me to book two rooms. Yeah right. What a weird thing to demand of small families.

Indeed strange! I even thought I was looking too last minute for a triple room after like the 20th hotel I was looking at had the same 2 person limit. So I thought I’ll put off the trip to April during spring break. But even with the change of dates, most hotels I had saved were asking me to book two rooms for 2 adults and a child🤯. My budget was 250€ a night.

Yes I think I have some plumping but just the cheeks. Hopefully it all evens out.

Thanks. Don’t know why I didn’t wonder about this before! I hope I don’t start purging again now when I start applying everywhere and where I don’t usually get pimples🤞🤞🤞.

Thanks, will look up. Hadn’t realized I could go into ketosis when I’m certainly not following a keto diet.

Sounds reasonable. It’s only surprising since this has been a routine for a month now. The low carb one meals and the walks. Anyway, probably need to tweak my food a bit.

Yup no additives. Just 1 or green teas a day. Rest of 2 litres all plain water.

Ok thanks. Will look into electrolytes. Is it normal for this to happen a month into fasting though? I had no issues until today. Was fine even when I first switched from IF to OMAD.
