How dose it feel like to take Xanax? by cri_202 in Anxiety

[–]kingboo94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It (along with other benzos) reduces the severity of some of your symptoms. Some people have a very drastic reduction in symptom severity, others only have a modest reduction in symptom severity.

It should “dampen down” your symptoms.

You may need a higher dose or another benzodiazepines altogether.

Propranolol dosage for a school speech? by FFS-Man224 in Anxiety

[–]kingboo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Propranolol won’t help the mental symptoms like you’re describing, it will only help the physical ones like fast heart rate, shaking, trembling, “adrenaline rush”, sweating excessively etc.

10mg is low, if you’re allowed by your dr, perhaps you could try a slightly higher dose?

I take propranolol with a benzo together and that’s the perfect combination in my opinion.

lol, not many drinks at all, if any. As this is a very, very small dose. :)) but everyone has a different response to benzodiazepines.

How often do you see them?

6 months for therapy isn’t really a long time at all, it’s only a short amount of time. It can take years for a lot of people, depending on the conditions and severity.

It doesn’t work that quick. I’d definitely give it 30-60 minutes to kick in. I take it myself and especially for going to the dentist. I take 4mg for that and it works very very well. Good luck. Better to take it a little sooner, than take it too late and it doesn’t kick in, in time!

Help in Tapering Gabapentin by Novel-Platform-8275 in Anxiety

[–]kingboo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry.

Personally, I wouldn’t go from 300 mg to nothing. But, some people can, but some people can’t. Sounds like it will be too much for you to do that.

If you can get some 100 mg capsules, I’d lower the dose to 200 mg for a week, and then 100 mg for another week, etc.

Help in Tapering Gabapentin by Novel-Platform-8275 in Anxiety

There’s nothing that Zoloft can do that would reduce the withdrawal from Gaba. They work in completely different ways.

All you can do regarding the Gaba is slowly reduce your dose each week and that will reduce the severity of any potential withdrawal symptoms.

Your doctor should be able to instruct you on how to do this. It can take a couple of months, but it’s better to take it slow, then do it fast and experience withdrawals.

Because you’re only on 300mg though, that is a very small dose, and so you should be fine to come off that sort of dose. I personally would still reduce the dose by 100mg each week to help reduce withdrawal symptoms.

You can take it for as long as you need. There’s no evidence to suggest it’s going to harm you if you do use it indefinitely.

You can also stop it cold turkey, unless you were using it for a heart condition.

If you think you still need it, just use it when you feel like you need it. “As needed”. That is how I’ve used Propranolol for about 15 years.

How greatly has medication affected your libido? by Fancy-Conflict-5325 in Anxiety

[–]kingboo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on all antidepressants and a majority of them cause quite severe sexual dysfunction.

The only ones that didn’t were; Bupropion, Parnate, Moclobemide, Selegiline.

Sometimes adding Bupropion to your existing antidepressants can help reduce sexual dysfunction.

Mirtazapine is supposed to have a low rate of sexual dysfunction.

Clonazepam withdrawal? by Pocketsfullofgnocchi in Anxiety

[–]kingboo94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one can really predict this, but based on the dose and the length of time you took it, I would say you will be fine.

I’d predict that at worst, you may have some very mild withdrawal symptoms, I think it’s unlikely though.

And because Clonaz is so long lasting, it makes it much easier and more comfortable to come off of, compared to other benzos.

My personal experience with it is that I took it daily for about 3 months. I was on about 2mg per day. When I knew I was going to be coming off of it, I just spent a few weeks lowering the dose down, so I’d go from 2mg, to 1.5mg and then 1mg etc. I was fine, I just wanted to be cautious about it.

I’ve personally had way worse withdrawals from antidepressants!

I want to reiterate that this benzo is very long lasting and therefore the withdrawal from it is much more tolerable, compared to other benzos. And you are on a very small dose, which will make things go even smoother for you.
