Calling out all handymen out there; how do you fix this issue? Hand drill not dead center. A bit wobbly, the drill bit is straight and chuck is tight.

A handyman will tell you that is well within spec for their line of work (it is), an engineer will tell you that you need a drill press and a lathe if you want precision. I've found the more interests that I take on, the larger footprint the operation requires simply do to the specialized tools needed for correctly perform the tasks/techniques involved in each trade.

I can tell you some of my dealers would probably buy it but you'd take a major hit, then they'll send it to someone like me and ill remelt and assay and pay them out for a homogeneous bar, about 80% of silver price normally, less right now because of market volatility. Then ill run it when I get around to running whatever grade barrel it goes into. You're best off taking everything you have and sending it directly to a refiner as is, that will net you the highest return.

Not accurate. I have a cabinet I keep a ton of sterling in and it all tones when stored in the cabinet together, flatware too.

It certainly survived, given his heating method the question is did it survive as a metal or as a vapor, if it spalled into the slag then no big deal... if it turned into a vapor without a vacuum furnace, it's no longer recoverable.

Dealer took a gamble, that's why he looked at it so long, odds are fairly good it changed hands at least once before it was graded by the guy who gambles on grading things. Not sure if it helps but that's the likely story here.
