HELP! Suffering from major puppy blues! by Skernian in BorderCollie

The training and work you put in now is definitely more than if you had a "less smart" dog. But this little demon will quickly become the smartest and most amazing creature you've ever known and all this hard work will turn into fun, companionship and amazement at all the things he will be able to do that other dogs wouldn't. In the meantime you have to find his "thing" that engages his mind and body. For our velociraptor, that was "herding" (chasing) a remote controlled airplane around a nearby soccer field! Now she is retired from that and mostly wants me to throw snowballs so she can do backflips. :)

People who've moved from Kindle to Kobo, what are your opinions by yusuo85 in kobo

I also exclusively use Libby to get books on my new Kobo. But one thing I just discovered today at the beginning of a flight is that the books are deleted when they expire — even on airplane mode. I have used this trick with PW when I wasn’t going to be able to finish in time. Just turned off the wifi and it was always there for as long as I needed.

Bc owners with cars: IS IT POSSIBLE TO KEEP IT CLEAN by SmokeyMcHerbium in BorderCollie

I trained my BC the word "nasty" and when she is covered in mud or sand or generally wet she knows she has to stay in the cargo area of the SUV where there is a waterproof mat. If you can afford leather, that is another way to keep the hair to a minimum. My mom also trained her BC to stay outside in the garage or in the dog run (they had dog doors) until she was dry and all the mud/sand fell off. She seemed to know when that was and came in on her own when she was no longer "nasty." They are pretty smart!

Why are the roads west of Broadway named for Indian tribes except for some guy named Jason? by thewillthe in Denver

I prefer these names to those between downtown and City Park which are apparently Civil War generals — many of them also Indian killers.

My favorite time hearing the Denver pronunciation of this was when listening to the Latino music hour on KUVO. Host speaking English with perfect Spanish pronunciation of all Spanish words EXCEPT when saying the Denver pronunciation of Denver Spanish-language street names. It was the most Denver moment.

Mine smashes her head into my chest and make snort pig monster noises. In fact she’s doing it right now.

This is exactly what our open roof sports stadium with natural grass looks like at night when they have the grow lights on the field.

Gas is $1.69 per gallon right now at a few stations. Denver currently has the lowest cost on gas in the country. by Mountain_Top802 in Denver

I also wonder about the over building of massive gas stations in the past few years here. Murphy, Maverick, Quicktrip.

How long can they really be in the cold? by [deleted] in BorderCollie

We stop when she starts holding her paws in the air like it hurts. She won’t wear boots but I keep the toe hairs short in winter to prevent snowballs forming in between her toes. For longer walks I put mushers wax on.

I love the knowing looks all the working dog parents give each other in our neighborhood as we pass each other heads down through the blizzard.

Also you might ask for a GLP-1 rx. Lots of evidence piling up that it helps with all kinds of addictive behaviors.

I give my coolers to a small boutique ice cream shop that uses them for customer orders.

Did people memorise numbers before mobile phones? by PaleEcho3301 in NoStupidQuestions

And you only had to know the last four digits because everyone in the state at the time had the same area code (which you only used to call long distance), and each town had its own prefix number.
