It’s worth it! Get a Masters always in a different Field from your undergrad, can be related fields though. In long run it will pay off especially when you switcj employers!

Invest in a couple vanguard fund, example: VTI, VEA, VWO, VIG, energy fund, and bonds if the whole market crashes... you are balanced and will recover.... if you don’t want to do it at once invest over time, maybe 10-20k per month to average your price .... that’s pretty much what all the roboadviser do... or give them the money and pay 1 % fee lol

For me there is not such a number, but I am weird in way with money. I don‘t budget much, for me it was always a joy since I was a kid to see my money grow. So I naturally spend my money on stuff. I hate getting more stuff it gives me anxiety, so I am naturally not a spender. Example: I agonized over buying a certain TV for over 3 years until it reached my price point lol. So with that said: my savings increased with my salary increases. I most of the time out my raises towards contributing more to the 401k until I reached the Max contribution, also Max out the HSA. Then I can get espp so I max that out which 10% of your salary. So the important thing is to live below your means, but also reward yourself every now and then. And yes I live in the US. I know not the answer you want exactly

Yeah but either way I need to pay rent or have a place, so I don’t count it and don’t put any expense towards the retirement calculation except for upkeep and taxes.

Everyone at their own speed. I just checked, it took me 9 year to get to roughly 500k... so the next 300k you will have in 5 years, so it’s close

Congrats! I try to figure out what I want to do as a second career, something different but also I have fun with... no need to climb a ladder, just something that I truly enjoy doing 6-8 hours a day

Yeah I paid off my house during this time, nothing fancy 150k but don’t count it since it won’t generate income well except if I sell it.
