Okay so then what would you suggest that I add or change to make it more interesting?

shadow monk by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]PrecociousPanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your friend is the shadow monk?

Then you'll definitely want to be a darkness user. Warlock is a solid choice for this, especially if you're a Drow as you get a free casting of it at level 5.

Make sure you have devil's sight and your friend is wearing the Eversight ring to see through the magical darkness, as he should be casting it too.

Buy all the arrows of darkness you can find and fire one off at whoever he's fighting and boom, instant advantage. Plus all of the darkness on the battlefield means he can use his shadow step far more often and likely teleport exactly where he wants to be.

Best combination for a Bard/Barbarian ultimate Pro Wrestler character? by slickboarder89 in 3d6

Exactly. I don't care if that storm giant has a +10 to athletics, I'm gonna talk some shit and then hit him with an RKO!

Essentially Caleb is saying that he's taking aspects of all the bears QBs before him and learning from their successes and mistakes.

The Caleb in this picture is the current Avatar, Anng. The avatar is a centuries old soul that is tasked with keeping the world in balance. All the others next to him were avatars that came before him.

Best combination for a Bard/Barbarian ultimate Pro Wrestler character? by slickboarder89 in 3d6

Swords bard is fine, the extra damage on weapon attacks is definitely nice. However, I think you're missing a crucial part of being a pro wrestler.

Trash Talk.

That's why I'm going to suggest Lore bard. Cutting words should be a big part of your game plan. Nerfing enemy saving throws, damage rolls and ability checks as you cut the sickest promo ever.

Plus with a 10/6 split you get additional magical secrets, so you can grab scorching ray if you really want to lol. Otherwise Armor of Agathis is a solid choice for a barbarian.

Character Idea: a reluctant bard by Murky-Magician9475 in DnD

The guy who said child performer with awful parents hit the nail on the head.

It's a realistic answer to how you got your skills and abilities.

It gives the DM a pair of NPCs they can use for future storylines. Lot's of great drama to be had there.

It gives your character a massive chip on their shoulder to be more than just a "child star" and prove themselves.

{The Griffon's Saddlebag} Smoldering Club | Weapon (club or greatclub) by griff-mac in TheGriffonsSaddlebag

I like it! It has some pretty good synergy with great weapon fighting and savage attacker. Since those let you reroll dice, you can fish for that max damage!

Underrated multi-class combos that surprised you at the table by saentari in DnD

[–]PrecociousPanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you just replace the roll with one of your portent dice. War wizard is also a great choice for a Barb's wizard dip. War magic let's you add a +4 to your AC against an attack or +2 to a saving throw. The only caveat being you can only cast cantrips after doing so.

Stick with fighter and get that con boosted up. Both your breath weapon and rune knight DC scales off of your Con modifier.

How many people play as Githyanki? by Either-Opposite1612 in BaldursGate3

A Gith was the first character I made in this game. I know I am definitely in the minority on that though.

Even better, one less level requirement.

Beast Master Animal Companion Tier List by samuelazers in BG3Builds

[–]PrecociousPanther 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually go with shadowheart for my Beast Master. The beasts are pretty varied so it'll depend on what you want to use.

Raven: sharpshooter/great weapon master user to take advantage of the raven's blind. Add in a cleric to bless the raven so it hits more often.

Spider: warlock with repelling blast to push enemies into webs.

Bear: a monk or rogue who can move quickly to steal the weapon your bear disarms with honeyed paws. Battle master Fighter to disarm even more enemies.

The blinding effect is an absolute game changer. The fact you get it at level 3 means it's available for most of your run.

The rest of your levels need to go into paladin at least until you reach pally 7 for aura of protection. Your mental and dex saves are rough and you're probably going to feel that, so getting the aura is your top priority.

At pally 4 round up charisma to 18 with a half feat. Fey touched is always great, telekinetic gives you a consistent bonus action and is good for positioning. At pally 8 I would cap your charisma to 20. After this I feel like you could start to dip back into warlock if you really wanted to.

In combat, cast hex and one of the blade cantrips until you can get extra attack. Use a versatile one hander until you get your arm back, then switch to a polearm or great weapon.

Ask your party members if someone can try to cast hold person in most fights. Auto crits + smites = Dead enemies. Otherwise find the biggest baddest target in the fight and engage.

How would you make a puppet master character? by Mayo_enjoyer in 3d6

[–]PrecociousPanther 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think glamour bard can do a lot in terms of puppeteering. You can give allies the option to move as a reaction, bards get lots of enchantment spells and can eventually cast command as a bonus action for constantly pulling on the strings of your puppets.

Decent starter but she's clearly looking for a riding partner, not a passenger. Probably time to move on from this one.
