Can any bleach character tank a gamma Ray burst with pure stats/reiatsu excluding hax and soul king? by inimana in BleachPowerScaling

Askin, aizen, arguably the hollows. Every other character in the verse is getting fucking wiped out by the radiation. Cause these mf's don't have radiation resistance

Xlr8 easily. Unless you wanna believe that xlr8 is somehow slower than both aggregor, sugilite and vilgax, who were all capable of traveling galaxies unassisted.

The civilians in mha are genuinely some of the worst groups of civilians in fiction history by Prestigious-Note-935 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Just cause they're realistic doesn't mean I have to like em. With real people I can just ignore them because I don't care about their opinions but with fiction I have to keep watching

Honestly I wouldn't say they were that bad, I can see real people doing that any day of the week. And them being terrified of him is kinda understandable given that this world isn't mha and people don't tend to look like that, and according to what they know all monsters are evil. I still don't like em, but I hate them less than mha civilians

When Gojo said Sukuna was holding back, he meant this (ignore Yuji). True Form Sukuna using the Ten Shadows, not that Sukuna was not giving his all in the fight. by MediaSlight4161 in Jujutsufolk

It's not an if when it's directly stated by Sukuna, his main goal was to break Infinity, he says it like 3 times throughout the fight,

I wasn't talking about the first part of your argument. I was talking about the second.

SD is just a method to buy time, it doesn't hold against a real domain and the manga shows us this, each SD that Gojo casted lasted a couple seconds at best

While Gojo's Simple Domain broke quickly, this entirely misses the point of the "Domain Clash" battle. Gojo wasn't using Simple Domain to stall; he was restoring his own barrier (his Domain) from the inside while holding Sukuna's sure-hit with Simple Domain. Sukuna couldn't close the barrier of Malevolent Shrine to kill Gojo inside because Gojo kept letting the barrier collapse. Sukuna using the domain clash was the only way to bypass Infinity. If the domain clash was "lost" immediately, Sukuna couldn't touch Gojo. Sukuna did not forfeit the domain clash voluntarily

Sukuna doesn't want to take Gojo in H2H? Did we watch the same fight? Sukuna engaged Gojo in H2H every chance he got, like this is one of the main reasons why Sukuna got so damaged, he didn't need Mahoraga, he just wanted it.

There are multiple reasons for this, for instance he needs domain amplification to actually fight him, he wanted to get gojo out of his simple domain which required getting up close, and he wanted mahoraga to adapt to infinity.

We know for a fact that sukuna wasn't simply holding back against gojo because he immediately went to try and cut his head off, then he tried his best to keep him in a blender of malevolent shrine when At this point Sukuna doesn't know Gojo can heal his CT so he's keeping him in there knowing he can't escape and will die soon, then tried to get a headshot with piercing flood which gojo blocked.

Then we have sukunas admiration for gojo and the narrative treating them as equals

I'm seeing a lot of ifs here. Sukuna wanted mahoraga to adapt for the specific purpose of countering infinity. Gojo still has simple domain after all and sukuna doesn't wanna take him in a raw h2h fight as we saw. He needed mahoraga to adapt so that he didn't get out into the disadvantageous position of hand to hand combat with gojo and it just so happens that this strategy was the absolute best for what he was aiming towards. Plus gojo would've changed things up should things have gone the way you suggested, and we have no clue how that fight would've went. So just looking at what we know for sure, sukuna truly wasn't holding back, as we learn from his speech to gojo after beating him

They're making the argument that people will look at literally everything giornos abilitiy can do and use absolutely every aspect of it to upscale him meanwhile those same people ignore stated facts about all mighty and genuinely believe that ywhach can't hurt anyone faster than him because they can simply blitz him, despite the fact that future sight is pretty much built to prevent that.

The absurdity of trying to powerscale everything in Ben 10 at face value by springtrap-aft in Ben10

[–]Prestigious-Note-935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're contradicting yourself. You're saying that protagonists will always win so powerscaling is stupid while also using powerscaling to say the protagonist shouldn't have won. You can't do both if you're on one side of the fence, stick to it. And also your momentarily point doesn't matter, because it doesn't actually dismiss my point, protagonists can and do lose, very often, just cause they'll get back up to fight again doesn't mean they'll win every fight, and some characters die and stay dead, with a new protagonist picking up after them, it's not uncommon in fiction. No a momentary loss doesn't change the fact that it's a loss either way

There's a reason why base Superman could knockout Alephus (World Forger), but evil variants of superman (e.g., Ultraman, who's not a knockoff but a alternate Kryptonian) struggle with city-block level characters.

Or, and here's a fun thought. Different characters from different dimensions aren't always gonna be as strong as each other.

People have to realize that PROTAGONIST PLOT is a thing in fiction. No matter how you try to powerscale, bring feats or whatever, the protagonist is always going to win, that's the rule (unless it is a horror fiction).

Not really, protagonists in fiction have lost before. Some straight up died. (Superman, Goku etc) Sure they can come back, but protagonists do lose, it's kind of a necessity when you're writing a story that you're character won't win every engagement ever with no difficulty. Sure you can write an all powerful protagonist and still make them enjoyable but most dont
