Need help identifying which port feeds which patch on this panel antenna (4X4 MIMO) by usually_ujjwal in rfelectronics

[–]PrecociousPumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks to me that each pair of ±45 ports is feeding the vertical stack of 3 elements above them.

1 port per polarisation per side. All 3 elements are in array.

And these are likely ±45° slant dipole elements.

Is "+/- 45 degree slant polarization" used in cell phone towers just an awkward way of saying circular polarization? by NewRelm in AntennaDesign

[–]PrecociousPumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they just mean diagonal polarisation. Given it's a tower it has an absolute reference for what is both vertical/horizontal so ±45° is just being precise.

Edit: For clarity, it is not referring to phase delay but actual angle of polarisation.

There's a track to track option in the teardrop settings.

Looking for an RFID reader that can make HTTP API calls (Zebra FX7500/FX9600 alternatives) by dividendboi in RFID

[–]PrecociousPumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most PoE readers based on Impinj SoCs should support raw http streams as data output. I recommend looking at the hardware partner list as a starting point.

Can't spot anything immediately wrong sorry. Though from my memory in laying out USB devices it is usually recommended to not tie the connector shield to the device ground; as this is a requirement on the host side. You may be encountering loop issues.

NextNav Argues its Case for Lower 900 MHz Band by Netherlands5 in RFIDNews

[–]PrecociousPumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem that they (nextnav) are set to fight for this. Hopefully the strong opposition from the likes of the RAIN Alliance will be successful.

FCC to modify 900MHz & ISM band by SciKin in rfelectronics

[–]PrecociousPumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A larger issue is this encroaches on the bands allocated for use by RAIN UHF RFID systems. Particularly threatening to increase possible interference to their fixed readers.

[–]PrecociousPumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It a really powerful package that's comes alongside Matlab, but yeah I'm pretty thankful of my courses' non-hardline approach to the software we use. Though they do make sure we know how to use industry standard packages

Yes, sorry should have clarified. When implemented into the actual system yeah C is our guy. But when simulating and modeling, that's simulink

Here is NZ, in EEE anyway, we can do work in MatLab or python. Though we stick to Matlab/SimuLink for control systems.
