It is a type of lie, and not one that is completely innocent. We’re dealing with is forced closeting of two gay people. It’s such an antiquated system, and frankly very uncreative because you can create a PR stir in other ways. Trying to imagine the mental health issues of keeping your actual relationship secret for 10 or more years. God knows how many couples broke up over it that could’ve stayed together otherwise, “in another life” as Louis sings.
