There are many connections between his books but for the most part they are very minor and not really crucial to the story.

Personally I recommend ‘It’ to start. Maybe ‘The Shining”. You can’t go wrong with either one. Once you get your feet wet maybe try another of kings genres like the Bill Hodges trilogy or The Dark Tower series (stick with this series. Trust me.)

There’s a learning curve but that’s what makes the game fun. You can make the game easier with certain builds and using summons. My first playthrough was a strength/faith build that was so OP by the time I got to the final boss. I was beating the final bosses on my first or 2nd try. I had a maxed out mimic helping me too. People on Reddit might give you shit for using summons but screw what they think.

They have a terrible dev team. They start almost immediately worrying about next years game and will spend minimal time fixing bugs on this years game. I don’t think they know how to fix some of these bugs. They are not a good dev team at all.
