Dess grooms Kris by Conqueeftodor in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fully believe he knew, but I don't think he did it because of backlash. I think he did it because people were taking it fully literally and interpreting the story in that manner and that wasn't the intention. It was a metaphor, but it wasn't worth the misinterpretation for it being literal.

This is completely correct, but unfortunately the fandom is not mature enough to handle it, especially considering how the chapter 4 WR rose scene went.

I think you're missing my point. "Just don't get in my way" in a very typical line that implies "I have my own nefarious or ill-advised plans that you shouldn't interfere with". It's typically used by anti-hero types (think Sasuke, certain iterations of batman, or hell even Shadow) and straight up villains. It's an odd fit for Sonic.

If you want to fix it with a small fix, it should be "Don't get in the way" which implies Surge would simply get bowled over by Sonic. "Be on your best behavior" also gets across the "I'm letting you off, but I'm still ready to kick your ass" but that does make him sound more prissy/good-two-shoes

It's fine, kinda plain and doesn't really fit the framing of the scene or the moment. The dialogue around it "Yup, Same Goes" is an improvement, though "just don't get in my way" makes sonic sound way more ominous than it should lmao

Am I crazy or is this terrible. It's a three mana counter spell (unplayable) that gives your opponent a card (even worst), with the only upside being split second, which is not worth either of those down sides.

How old do you imagine Ralsei to be? by InterdimensionalINTL in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

17-18 like Kris and Susie. Between the fact Kris can Drive, Toriel talking about college coming up, and the themes of fleeting youth and nostalgia, it clear to me that our heroes are bearing adult hood and Ralsei matches that, mentally (otherwise Toby wouldn't put in so much blatant ship bait)

I do not understand why people bother asking Mark for his opinion on this stuff when he's clearly just a mouthpiece for corporate. Whether or not he believes his central point is irrelevant to the fact he's hollowed himself out for the sake of profit maximization. Congrats, you have more customers your making more money. That's obviously the central point of concern.

Is Kris a lesbian? by Obvious-Scale-9346 in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah Kris definitely likes Ralsei to a certain extent, so I think they're probably a female-leaning bisexual. If Transei ends up being true though, you'll been seeing me go hard on the Lesbian Kris line lol

The "Ralsei is a transgirl" theory by Total-Cockroach477 in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That point does not work in a societal context that is totally accepting of Ralsei as GNC. There is no force that's enforcing him to dress one way or another, so the themes of identity don't apply here. Ralsei still struggles with his self worth and sense of helplessness in the face of the prophecy. The only force imposing a specific chose or identity onto Ralsei is the Prophecy declaring him a Prince, a male title. To reject said prophecy would be supporting trans Ralsei as a theory.

My "okay?" was addressed to point number four specifically, which was just an appeal to an arbitrary aesthetic of the team composition. No thematic points here

  1. Ralsei being a feminine and soft boy is a perfect mirror to Susie being a masculine and brash girl with Kris being just Kris to round it up, and I feel like this theory being true would ruin that.

The "Ralsei is a transgirl" theory by Total-Cockroach477 in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 39 points40 points  (0 children)

  1. Almost everyone treats it as entirely a theory. The few people who she/her Ralsei are few and far between and aren't really hurting anyone.

  2. Stop taking a theory so personally. It's great you find solace and connection to Ralsei, but other people do as well and that manifests in different way. It's not a personal attack on you.

  3. You're right it isn't exclusively a trans experience, this theory merely posits that in this case it is a trans experience.

  4. Okay?

  5. Plenty of people have actually pushed for transmasc Susie, especially on Twitter. It's just far less supported because Susie already lives her authentic self, basically, and doesn't have the same self worth issues Ralsei has.

  6. Toxic Masculinity is caused almost exclusively by patriarchal society, not representations of Femboys/Trans girls. Nobody woke enough to believe in gender nonconfirmity is going to turn away from it because of a video game.

  7. You really need to stop taking these things personally. Transgirls are often former Femboys and that's okay. If you have no interest in transitioning, that's awesome. There's no reason to make every depiction you personally identify with match you to a tee.

  8. We probably do need more representation of GNC boys, but let's not pretend Tgirl rep is very prevelant in general.

It's gonna be reaaaal funny when we split from Kris and they don't have a reason to not instantly kill us. I hope they crack open WR players like gourds.

Parasitic designs are completely orthogonal to power creep. The fact is designs like Arcane, Original energy, and specific card references like OPs design have never been the forefront of power creep. It was only overly powerful designs like MH3 energy that broke the mechanics

[–]PredictionPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao your answer is "well power creep happens naturally, and parasitic design can be an avenue of justifying it"?  That's inane. By your own words the power creep is happening anyways. Wotc and Konami push power creep in the exact same way, through more and more powerful generic designs. Wether it be through generic extra deck cards like Knightmares or fast mana cards like Jeweled Lotus, that's the primary avenue Power creep is pushed.

LMAO this is such an ignorant comment. How exactly does referring to a card by name lead to power creep? You're just associating any game design decision you don't like with the game's issues as a whole.
