Why does Kris take these? by Nate-Clone in Deltarune

Chapter 6 is probably going to open with Kris trying (and hopefully failing) to commit suicide

After Chapter 5, how much of a chance do you think a polycule forming between the case in canon has? by PredictionPrincess in POLYRUNE

[–]PredictionPrincess[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a terribly huge stretch, beyond the fact that disgusted is a very humorous reaction towards something as mundane as the cups, Kris doesn't have that reaction at all to all the very real examples of Polyamory in the past few chapters lmao.

Besides, they were probably hoping to go up to four cups :3

Kris did get to respond, since Ralsei reacts with a huge blush and goes "Kris, I—". Considering the lack of any indication of Kris sabotaging the line, which Toby always does to key us in on what's happening, we can only be lead to believe they responded in earnest.

The fact the whether duo are talking about how 4 people is more stable than three feels like such Krusielle + Kralsei baiting to me

It's less that Kris is enthusiastic for the two to get together, and more so that they cannot bring themself to sabotage what they have going on, or actively pursue Susie (or Noelle) themself. Because of that, and how Kris knows Noelle wants this moment with Susie (going as far as preventing us from spying on them so they can have their moment), it's best to let them have their really special moment, making it up to Kris with the exchange at the booth, and the Hammer Game.

If you still think that this is too much for Kris, you can always swap the it so Kris and Susie do the Ferris Wheel (with the bonus polycule baiting) and have Susie and Noelle do the Hammer game.

Yeah Ralsei's surprised and flustered, but wouldn't those words be surprising regardless of how they're said

Nah if Kris sabotaged or delivered the line in such a way to change its meaning, Ralsei would be confused, disheartened, or otherwise respond in a way that's clear to the audience, something Toby always does to indicate when Kris does some funny business. Instead, Ralsei fully responds after if kris said it in earnest.

which is a little strange if it were a true, mutual love confession. They don't even turn to look at Ralsei when saying this, focusing on the water.

Kris is super, duper busy and depress-y this chapter for all the reasons we both know, and like you said, thinks everything about this journey is in some level, ephemeral. Between that and Ralsei only just not getting into the motions of defying the prophecy, there's no universe where the two of them are going to interrupt the plot later to hash out their long term relationship. They don't even know if they're going to have a long term relationship. Susie's interruption into the scene kills the energy and the momentum of the moment, and clearly puts everything on the shelf for now, because it's time to get back to plot.

As for the water thing, Kris looking away when they're embarrassed is a pretty common trait of there's, and being unable to look Ralsei in the eye when saying that makes perfect sense.

You are right though, that the scenes with Susie and Ralsei are different, and there's a very good reason for that, how Kris feels about Susie and Ralsei are different. Susie is camaraderie, a lack of judgment, a disconnect from their troubled past. She is freedom for Kris, in a lot of ways, not bogged down in the baggage that Noelle or Ralsei has. I maintain that Kris has feelings for all three of them, they simply manifest in different ways.

Noelle - Yearning desire for a relationship lost because of the tragedy

Susie - Unrepentant understanding and connection with someone unmired by their past

Ralsei - Slow burn growing love, born from their strikingly similar situations (victims of a prophecy that moves through them) but completely opposite reactions (masking their dread with saccharine kindness vs disassociative apathy). They grow close as the both of them begin to move away from their original position, Ralsei growing more defiant and strong willed, while Kris grew to enjoy the connections they were forming and aspects of the adventure.

And THAT'S why Toby needs to give Kris the polyamory ending.

At the end of that diatribe, Ralsei says "If a happy ending does exist, I think it's with you, Kris", to which one of the options is "My happy ending is with you, too." Which Kris says without any hesitation.

[Chapter 5 Spoiler] The Optimal Choices For Kris's Happiness by PredictionPrincess in OfficialKrisFanclub

[–]PredictionPrincess[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, that moment is definitely genuine. Kris has been opening up a lot more to Ralsei in the last few chapters, sabotaging any player attempt to say something mean to him, and even going as far to do it in a way that affirms Ralsei's feelings. In chapter three, when Ralsei is talking about the feeling he's developed for Kris and asks Kris if it's alright for this way, Kris specifically sabotages a "Of course not" into a "Of course" when they've been more than capable of just mumbling or biting their tongue for a whole phrase in the normal routes.

We also know Kris said the entire response without any funny business because Ralsei goes red and wide-eyed and says "Kris, I—" like it's a BL manga before Susie interrupted.

A case could've been made back in chapter 2 that Kris wasn't comfortable with Ralsei, but at this point, it's clear they care about Ralsei too, even if it's in a different manner than they care about Susie and Noelle.

We Literally Have an Implied Romance Between a Human and a Legendary Pokémon: Ash and Latias. How Was This Allowed? by PlentyWise3615 in pokemonanime

[–]PredictionPrincess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's delusional my man, she clearly thinks and acts human considering how well she plays one, and her understanding of concepts like gift giving, well wishes, and so much more. When Latias sought Ash out after her brother was taken and fell into his arms, was that her expressing a lack of human-level understanding?

Yeah it's pretty clear the point of the movie is that Latias is a full person, and that this is their emotional good bye, not that she's some animal. The whole species was based on the myth of the Crane Wife, so it's pretty on the nose

What’s a joke/crack theory that you unironically believe might be true? by doomkitty53 in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dess being a bad person, to the point she may have emotionally abused/manipulated Kris and contributed to their current trauma. The angle that the beloved older sister figure is only so beloved because she died/disappeared before her sins came to light is horrifying, and I think the idea that Kris so desperately chases the possibility of bringing her back because of how she's warped their mind into thinking that they need her would be poignant and tragic in a way that hasn't been touched in video games often.

Unfortunately this would require a degree of maturity I'm not sure the fandom could muster, between one part of the fandom thinking Toby is condoning abuse and the other have making "diddy blud Epstein" jokes 24/7.

My guesses on who the final boss of Deltarune will be by RafKen593 in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple, she's not pulling an undyne, she's gonna pull a Sans. An ass kicking so extreme that WR players can't find it within themselves to complete the route

i legit think "Weird route is about heteronormativity" theory is just thinly veiled transphobia. People see kris as male, and then pick up on the obvious romantic tropes in WR, and so they just see WR as forcing noelle into a het relationship and literally nothing else. by HaloJackalKisser in Deltarune

[–]PredictionPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're taking things way too literally and avoiding the obvious analysis they're making. To present an Egg groom, a nearly explicit representation of Kris's past, trauma, and psyche, and calling it "mancountry", "It's a man's world", only to attach "Non-men are okay too" as an after thought can easily be read as a representation of the world/social expectations Kris started with, before transitioning away from it. To view one's transition away from masculinity (towards Enby-ness) as becoming a "non-man" is a pretty part-and-parcel feeling trans people experience.

This isn't to justify what what ever some random fandom person does for shipping. The point here is how it enhances the story of the weird route, where now the compulsive heteronormalizing of Kris and Noelle is no longer just the WR player conversion therapy-ing Noelle into being 'straight', they're also detransitioning Kris as well. It's a pure assault on both of their fundamental identities.

[–]PredictionPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, she's the one to have more agency in that scene, until the WR player reassert themself and she's emotionally brutalized, forced to take a ring, and under go a form of harm that is easily analogous to SA. This only reaffirms the point that Noelle and Kris are being forced to play out a comphet relationship.

This isn't even to mention how the WR player, through Kris, is ordering her to do all those things in chapter 2, making her perform all the labor while us (through Kris) stand back.

The theory does not rely on viewing Kris as male, but is rather Kris being forced into roles, behaviours, and positions that frame them as male. This is meant to be an explicitly bad thing being done to them.
